Dual Cathode Transformer

Question
Does the CCFL install cause any RFI (radio interference), EFI or EMI ??? I like to recieve far away FM.AM,CB and SW. Or should I just avoid CCFL and only consider LED strips instead.
Answer
It may cause RFI, but since our products are mainly used by people who use simple FM radio in their cars, it hasn't really been tested against other radio frequencies. Our guess is you'd be okay as long as your radio devices are not very near the cathode transformers. However give it a shot! You can always return them if they cause more interference than you'd like.
Question
I'm looking to use a CCFL tube to backlight the grill in my hoodscoop on my car. How well do they hold up to heat? It will be right above the engine.
Answer
Any LED or CCFL is not recommended to be installed near heat source.

Question
How do I hook up two transformers in one car? - by Brandon (Stowe, PA)
Question
can a transfomer get wet? and if not how do i weather proof a tansfomer for under the vehicle - by luis
Answer
The transformer should be kept as dry as possible. A good method for waterproofing one is to take the case apart and add in some silicone or liquid electrician's tape. Then reattach the case and wrap it in normal black electrician's tape. Then make sure all the connections are sealed with a silicone, and you're good to go. Sounds kinda complicated, but really doesn't take long.
Question
Can I attach two transformers on one fuse?
Answer
Yes, you can attach lots of transformers to one fuse if you wish.
Question
What size battery will I need to power it? - by Jacob (Florida)
Answer
These draw about 700mA at 12 volts.
Question
Are the transformers battery operated? - by Jacob (Florida)
Answer
They require 12 volts dc. You can power them from a battery if you'd like.
Question
how many cathodes can i connect to one transformer - by mikey (maui hawaii)
Answer
The Dual Cathode Transformer lets you hook up two cathode tubes.
Question
would the transformer burn out from extended usage, slow dimming of light (hooked to dome light), or dimming caused by a sub? I have two in the back of my car and the transformer burnt out on me the other day... also could it be because i extended the whit wires about another foot? other than that these things are great! insanely bright. i just need to get another transformer or two and ill be good to go :p - by Russ (Maui, Hawaii)
Answer
If you had the transformer hooked up to the dimming dome light wire, yes that could cause the problem. I doubt extending the white wires or the subwoofer would cause a problem (at least to the transformer - extending the white wires will likely affect your cathodes).

Thanks for the positive feedback =)
Question
Why is there a whole bunch of little holes on this transformer?
Answer
There are three plugs on the sides, one for the power and two for the two cathodes. There is a vent on the side of the transformer to help heat dissipate from inside.
Question
I have Cathodes in for a PC that i wish to install in my car, is there a way that i can do this? they are 9" tubes, I have 2 sets i wish to do this with and one with sound detection i would like to keep, could i use this product to do this? - by Tim (Ontario, Canada)
Answer
Since it is not one of our products, we cannot guarantee that your cathode kits will work in your vehicle. However, most computer lights will also work in a car as they both run off similar voltages. In our experience, we would say yes it would work. And no, we do not believe that the dual cathode transformer will be compatible with your computer kit. Install at your own risk.
Question
Can I connect a 12" tube and a 4" tube together with one transformer? - by Eric (Torrance, CA)
