i gotta buddy here in town with a 1g awd pushin about 400whp. he was wanting to be the 1st primer black awd with gold wheels.

i beat him to it.

i went to his work and he was **** that i did it before he did.
he is primering his talon this weekend and we are gonna try and get some 1g awd and 2g awd pics together.

looks very nice. im considering painting my car the "rattle can" way. anyone have any advice?

i painted mine in my driveway.
pulled my headlights, markers and taillights. bagged my muffler and sanded with 600 grit paper.

sprayed a couple light layers of primer(letting dry between coats) and then a couple heavier coats.

had the whole car done in a couple hours.

do you have to change your registration before or after you paint it. and what kind of paint did you use?

Show the car now to the guy you bought it from. I'm curious to what his reactions would be.

i have never had to change my registration.

i was gonna send some pics to the kid i got it off of, but he got the car how i got it. he maybe put 1000 miles on it when he had it.

so find out who he got it from. and send them pics. =P

i went to Duplicolors website and followed their directions for painting the wheels.

instead of using the wheel paint i used gold engine paint and clear.

the hood looks glossy compared to the body?!?!

i didn't spray the hood, roof or the wing. still stock black.

i keep a rag and a FULL can of primer in my car.
lol

I was just going to say that! Just a little smoke tint (not too dark like mine lol) though! You got a really awesome looking whip there. I love the TSI rear wing! One of the coolest looking cars ever made in my opinion. Just smoke out that cheesy talon logo and tails and it will be perfect!

car looks really good....i used to have a 97 gsx and a 97 gst....gsx had about 400 hp to the wheels too..

What brand of paint did you use, and did you rattle can clear it or spray-gun clear it?

i used Dupli-color GOLD engine paint and Dupli-color CLEAR engine clear.
