ok i've never noticed before but I was switching my radio over to AM last night to tune into coast to coast with george noory and noticed my radio has not only FM and AM but also FM2



well I have never heard of FM2
can anyone explain the difference between FM and FM2?

Isn't that where you "store" the rest of your FM presets? And I do believe I have FM2 and FM3 on my Kenwood, can't remember I have been using my iPod only lately. icon_lol.gif

Hahaha. It's basically for cars with 2 drivers. One driver presests on FM1 and the other can preset stuff on FM2.

This made me think though. Has anyone tried HD radio? Is it any good?

Glad to hear theres another person on here that enjoys AM radio.
As they said FM FM2 & FM3 are just extra space to store presets. However the area I live in we don't have any decent radio stations anymore, so I usually have it on AM, or I rock out to my ipod (this is my main music source as I don't have cds anymore)

HD Radio is not worth it.

When I worked at a local stereo store, we hooked one up to test the difference. The sound was a LITTLE clearer, more channels and that is about it.

The quality to me was worse, the sound level decreased and the price is lame.

Where I live, I only have two radio stations haha
so I've had XM radio in my car for...three or so years now
