Hey i was wondering is it legal in California to add cathode lights to the front grill of the car?

i have red lights and i read that its illigal to put red in the front of the car, is it legal to put any other colors on?

It is not illegal to put anything on. It might be illegal to drive with it. Depending on the situation, you might be hassled from cops whether something is legal or not.

I live in California and I added cathode lights to the front grill of my car.

Even if it is illegal, I don't care. I like the way it looks.

On/Off switch means I can turn it off when I want.

yeah i dont have an on off switch its connected directily to my headlights, i read that your not allowed to have red cathods on the front of the car

so should i drive around with it or take them off?

See my Kill Switch topic in Installation, Aken explains there how to wire up an on/off/on switch so you can have it on whenever you want, have them come on with your headlights, or turn them off.

i would think the red on the front would be illegal, i could see this confusing drivers in bad weather also the red might cause a reaction for people to hit their brakes. might be fine on the back. it's pretty much standard even before glow for red on the back white on the front.

Yeah basically just do what lb said for the most part. And if you dont want to have three options for the switch you can go with a very basic switch choice and just do on and off that way there is no chance of them being on by accident.
