For the back, I have two Pioneer TS-A6960R's..
http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-n8ssYOso48...;o=m&a=1&cc=01&avf=Y And the door speakers are factory. The headunit I want is a Pioneer DEH-P5500. I was just wondering if I could expect some decent bass. I know it won't sound like it would sound if there was a sub. Would it give me more bass than my stock headunit? And, crap, I forgot your name, the one with the 97 Grand Am, do you have a aftermarket headunit? And do your 6x9's rattle?? |

Yea i have a half ass sony M-730 one of there better ones if you could say sony has better ones. Im going to be getting a alpine 9815 after the dells. My factory 6x9 and infinitiy 4x6s have much more sound than the factory stereo. It will give better bass but when turning way up mine gets very distorted. The 6x9s are going to get replaced with infinity Kappa 3-way 6x9s. Im going for the best affordable quality i can get thats whay i went with 1 diamond M6 sub instead of 2 coustic CF subs. The fronts are going to get a alpine non-digital amp i think the number is F-220 60 watt rms to each of the front speakers to give me more treble and mid to the front. Right now my sound damping consists of 7 t-shirts under the back deck. im getting second skin damplifer this summer when i get a different car. going for a 96-98 GA GT sunroof.

I'd like to just get a deck, and possibly 2 10 inch Pioneer Subs. I don't want anything huge. Plus I need an amp, which I have no idea about what to get. I had to put some weather stripping on that back panel because it would hit the back window and rattle. That fixed it a little.

If you get subs, don't expect to be able to crank your system and get anything to sound good out of your speakers, that could keep up with the bass. Factory speakers are the cheapest pieces of **** you can buy. The cheapest like $15 pair of speakers you can buy from Wal-Mart are better than the factory speakers. They'll sound fine when they are turned down, but turn them up to anything decent, and they will distort.
If you are going to invest in subs, invest in some decent speakers. I don't know how much money you are looking to invest into your system, but I have some connections that could hook you up with some good stuff for cheap prices =) All brand new (and yes, the serial numbers have not been scratched off *grin*). |

That's great. I'm for all the deals I can get. I have some Pioneer 6x9's in the back. The only stock speakers are my door speakers, and I would like to upgrade those sometime too. The subs I want are like 40-50 bucks a piece. It seems pretty cheap, their from Cardomain.com. What kind of stuff could you get me a deal on?
