like the title says, just today i noticed that my stock speakers in the rear (both of them) are not working. the only electric related mod i have is LEDs for license plate(also the only mod i have) . I was wondering if any of you could give it a guess or a solution? Its an 05 tC. I did remove and put back the trunk door cover on the inside before, are any speaker wires in that area?

There should not be any speaker wires anywhere except between the headunit and the speakers themselves...just check the settings on the radio and make sure your not set to have the sound on just the front speakers...then check the speakers and make sure a connection did not come loose...

Is there are rear deck area...like where the speakers are mounted.....if so just look in the trunk and look up under the back glass and your speakers should be there...if you have a hatch then I don't really know, but pm lbjshaq and he might be able to help you out....

To actually get into the rear speaker area, you have to take out the rear seats. But you can just take out the little grocery hook thing and pull the panel back. I've never really had my speakers just stop working..I blew my stock speakers in the back rather quickly after I got the car, now would be a good time to replace them because if you listen to anything with bass on full tilt, they'll blow eventually. Mine took about two weeks, and that's stock head unit.
edit: here's a handy little link to a walkthrough on how to dismantle the interior of the car from the window line down. http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=60981 |

Well with the stock head unit it'd be pretty hard to blow some decent aftermarket speakers. I have Pioneer coaxials in the back and had some Kicker KS series coaxials and haven't blown either with more power going to them than the stock head unit will ever put out. I usually kept my car setting on xB for more bass and had it turned up about +2 when I was stock.

if the rear speakers are fine then sounds like the rear channels of the radio are shot
