Is it in the fender or still inside the engine compartment?

My guess is its a fender mount. Unfortunately you will need to take it out from the fender, which can be a pain in the butt.

I found that it is easier to do with a friend, one on the ground and one in the engine bay. Reach up with your hands and you will need to undo the screws that hold the filter in place in the fender wall.

Once you get it out you will clean it like any other filter....water with low pressure then make sure to re-grease it with spray and let it dry...then re-install.

I would not bother cleaning it unless you have had it in for over 8 months to a year or drive in a really dusty area....the filters work better when they are a little dirty.

I had a MAC CAI on my stang and it was a pain.

The actual product to be used, will depend on what brand of filter you have.

Just pick up a Recharge kit for a reusable filter...Autozone, Shucks, Walmart, Fred Meyer etc will sell them. K & N makes a filterpack recharge kit for about 10 bucks; has everything in it you will need to clean and re-oil.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to do the procedure.
