Can you use those Visa gift cards to purchase from Oznium? I dont got or need a credit card anymore, and this is the only other way I could get lights without having somone else buy lights for me.

Lol. I have 5 checking accounts with them. I hate them too but their Open hours are great. Open till 8 on weekdays and open on sundays. No other bank is open nearly as much. Which with me working 8-5 it is pretty crucial that they are open past 5 on weekdays. |

Those Visa gift cards will work anywhere they accept Visa. Works just like a debit.

You should get a CC, Moss. Even using it a couple times a month, and paying it off fully each time will help your credit improve.

So will paying off a car which all ready happened. My credit is solid. I get numerous offers for loans/cards and blah blah. Just push them off. I agree with your statement though. My job is more of less cash based for tax reasons. Unless I want to start declaring alot of untaxed cash. I put large purchases on cards for points or rewards. My girlfriend gets better rewards so I tend to take her our for large purchases. |

True. Any bit helps, though. Especially in economic times like this, a good credit rating is very valuable.
Mine is decent - I've butchered it slightly with CC debt (not a lot, really, but it stays pretty consistent), but I've also had credit for a while, so it helps. |

Not to flame or be lame like I tend to be with you but.... I have been told that credit does not mean **** in an economy like this. It's a cash talk **** walks kind of time? Based on the fact that no one wants to loan because it's too risky in most cases. Regarding large stuff. Used cars, Condos and cash loans. My girlfriend got a killer interest rate on her car because she laid down some cash for a down payment but without it she would be paying out the ass interest because she was a risk. (With a co-signer who owned a home and 2 cars and had the same job for over 20 years) Varies across the country though for alot of reason. |

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong - a large cash down payment will help you out IMMENSELY with any type of loan, especially for real estate. But a good credit rating goes quite a ways itself also. Especially for our generation, who usually doesn't have thousands saved up for a down payment on a car or house.
