I'll take a video tonight when I get everything hooked up.
trying to switch everything over to LED this year, I'll be replacing my icicle lights, etc..
the string tree's I really can't do anything about, unless I get new ones with LED's
I also got the GE Lights and sounds of Christmas, it's definitely not like the video's you see online, but it's pretty nifty, only has 6 channels with 40 songs, no option to put your own music on though.

anyone else doing anything a bit overboard with Christmas lights?

Johnny

I've actually gotten a ton of compliments over the LED lights.
not to mention they're brighter, and use less energy.

there is a modification you can do to add an FM transmitter, I can definitely tell I'll be doing this mod for next year, the music gets old quick, however I've had a ton of people just stop in the middle of the road to watch the lights and listen to the music.

Wizards in Winter house is about 4,000$ worth of computers, lights, and controller hardware.
I have about 250-300$ into the display.
it's not bad for what I paid.
although next year I'll be getting more lights, and I might look into getting a controller, etc...

if you're referring to the one that stompy posted you might want to check your facts.
there's easily 1,000$ in just lights, not to mention the mega tree, plus an additional 700-800$ in controllers, plus the electrical upgrades, etc...
don't forget the computer equipment or the time spent in sequencing the lights.

based on his lights there would be NO electrical upgrades needed. he is running what maybe 40 channels tops? the computer software can be run on anything including a 20 dollar p2 laptop. the lights are far from 1000. he has a few runs of icicle then some strands.

goto holdman.com if you wanna see a REAL expensive display. 175000 lights this year with about 215 channels.

I'm sure everyone just happens to have a few 30A plugs at the back of their house to run the controllers...

Yes I've seen the holdman display, it's amazing, that guy must sequence all year.
