Well today I got my wheels/tires from the east coast. I started the day by taking off my running boards, sanding them, priming them then spraying them black. Next I jacked up the truck, took the front wheels off....well one of them.

Turns out when I had the brakes done at Ford a genious decided it would be a great idea to torque one of my lugs on the driver side front to around 250-280 ft lbs. Lets just say I couldnt get it to budge and had to give in and take the truck to Les Schwab to have them use air tools on it. They even had a hard time getting it off but finally were successful.

I was planning on painting the brake calipers red today but it will have to wait. Ran out of time so don't mind the rusted brake calipers on the expensive slotted rotors icon_redface.gif

Specs on the wheels:
20x9 XD Monsters with 33x12.5x20 Toyo Open Country MT's

Hope you enjoy icon_cool.gif

Painted my running boards:
Wet sanded with 400 grit then used Krylon Primer and 2 coats of Krylon Satin Black: Have to wait and see how they hold up to foot traffic.

Niiiiice. My friend just got the same wheels (only in 18's) for his Dakota. I definitely like, and they look better on your truck if I do say so myself. icon_wink.gif

Wheels look good man.

You talking about brake calipers, reminds me that I need to find the time to do mine. How long does it take caliper paint to dry?

Looks great! I think it would look even better if you got rid of the chrome pieces and painted those black too. icon_cool.gif

Nice! Now just paint the chrome mirror peices, bull bar, tint the fog lights and it would look 323412343241234 times better. icon_biggrin.gif

thought about tinting the fogs and the bull bar I purposely got in Polished SS...didnt want to get black. Thinking about taking off the chrome skull caps and door handles....I would then need to take them off and paint them black though as they are severely oxidized.

I think Im going to leave it as is for now, thanks for the comments guys.

And for painting of the brake calipers the paint needs to dry for 24 hours before use. I will be doing roughly 3-4 coats on each caliper

Awesome truck I'm looking at the same tires. Only thing I don't like about you're truck is the grille, other than that very nice job.

Truck looks sweet!!
You must be spray painting your calipers if your talking about coats...
I used the dupli-color two part caliper paint (like epoxy) and brushed it on. When it hardened (in 6hrs) it was good to go, I gave it over night to cure completely before installing new pads the next day.
...will you neeed to clear coat the calipers if spraying them??
Gonna look really nice with the calipers done!!

I will be doing 3-4 coats of the brush on caliper kit. Duplicolor I believe, multiple coats so it hopefully wont chip/fade as quickly.

Wheels and tires were 2500 for both. Wheels were around 239.30 each and tires were 327.95. Got the last set of Toyo MT's in the country, backordered every where else I loooked.

Thanks for the comments guys icon_cool.gif

3-4 coats should about be bullet proof!!
I put 2 coats on my calipers last summer and they look the same now as then.
You'll like the shine/glow the 2 part paint creates...
Can't wait to see some pics, they should stand out nicely!

How much over stock are those wheels??
Thinking about getting something nice for my truck...

the stock wheels are 18x7.5 new ones are 20x9"

tires that were on there were Pirelli Scorpion STR 255/65/18 I believe...new ones are 305/55/20 or 33x12.5x20

raised the truck about 2" or so all around..so its now roughly 4" higher in the front and 2" higher in the rear over stock FX4 height which is slightly higher than the other F150 models due to the heavy suspension

The fronts are done...the back ones probably not...I just used rubberized undercoating to make them black...might spray a little more under the truck to get all the gray areas though icon_wink.gif

If you want it to look really good for a long time, might I suggest using the G2 caliper kit. I painted my front and rear calipers black with their kit over a year ago and they still look great, nice and glossy. Sure it's more expensive, but in the long run I think it's worth it. icon_cool.gif

I may have another set of shoes. Browsing CL and Found some Pro comp 35x12.5R18 for sale, 700. I sent an e-mail offering 500 cash and he agreed so im gonna check them out tomorrow, he said these pics were taken today so they still have alot of meat left on them.. Been wanting two sets of wheels/tires. I think he traded the jeep in since everything he has aftermarket is for sale and is just selling the stuff off it.
