I have a '79 Vespa P200E scooter that I am redoing into a street racer (I can hear the laughs now).
Anyway ... I want to replace the two original blubs using the Supeflux 4 chip LEDs. The original light unit has a clear festoon for the license plate / tail light, and a clear 1155 bayonet used for the brake. The internal bracket is only about 4" x 4". I am thinking of using one red Superflux placed in the original blub position, and a white Superflux that would be on a bracket pointing down thru the clear lens onto the license plate. Both of these would be wired together and would be on when the lights are on. Two red Superflex would be used for the brake lights. My question is will this set up provide enough light for my needs? Thanks.

NO ... You CAN find LED replacement bulbs that will fit in , but they use multiple LEDs in them to retain brightness = to the bulb

They are fairly bright,so I would think it could be enough.Although I do think that if you removed the bracket and mounted your white Superfluxes on to the inside clear portion of the lense, that you would shine alot more light across your license plate and plus not distract any of the output from the red Superfluxes in the lens. Edit: I forgot to add that you might want to block out the unused part of the clear lense that surrounds outer edges of the white superflux. I say this because if you don't,the light shining down on your license tag could have a small bit of red shining through. |
