I was test fitting my sub box today:

I was originally thinking I'd have to mount it to the trunk floor by using some bolts inside the box, but looking again, with the seat brackets right behind the box, it's obviously safe to drill there and just use some angle iron.

With the box sitting as is, the sub is angled downward slightly. There's a cable that runs under that spot, making the box sit unlevel. Would it hurt the sound quality to have it sitting like that? To level it out I'd have to figure out some sort of spacer to place under the carpet, as well as move the box a bit more forward, as the top rear corner practically touches the seat back as is, lifting the front bottom of the box would make it no longer fit:

If it's not a detriment to the sound to leave it how it is, I will. If I need to fix it, so be it. Thanks!

I'm not entirely sure I'm reading the question right, but the difference of a few degrees in mounting angle of a sub will probably make no noticeable difference at all .

In general the high stuff is very directional, which is why you find tweeters up on the top of door panels, in dash boards and a-pillars aimed right at your head . The low stuff (bass) is not directional, which is why you see hard-hitting setups on the trunk floor facing up, the side facing in, the trunk facing down, or back, every which way . You'll be fine . icon_biggrin.gif

When I hold the box level, the front of it sits about an inch higher than it would non-leveled.

I know bass isn't directional, I just didn't know if it'd make a difference if the sound was hitting the trunk floor compared to traveling all the way to the back of the trunk. I guess I can always try it the one way and then wedge something under it later if needed.

It won't make a difference. The reason bass isn't directional is b/c the length of the sound wave is larger than the distance between your ears and you can not triangulate the location.
