So I dont know if its a gauge..or ..whatever..but the thing that sais how much gas you have in your car

So..what about it you may be asking?

Well..I got the car today..it said full. I'm like cool..he filled it up for me. I drive bout 15-20 miles in it..and its like..a quarter tank. Does this meann..1. I have a fuel problem, or 2. It was reading wrong because it had been sitten alot on a hill-ish

Go to the gas station, fill it up, reset the trip odometer. Drive it around till the gauge reads close to empty. Take it back to the gas station and fill it up again and record the number of gallons filled on the second time. Divide the trip miles by the gallons and see what mpg you're getting.

Could be a bad sending unit.

My car will be empty, and I literally mean empty, just fumes, before the gauge shows it is even at a quarter tank.

could be the sending unit or even the float, pain in the ass in most cars to fix as you have to drop the tank and its messy and smelly lol

Yeah, my gas gauge in my s10 as SOON as it hits a quarter of a tank it drops to empty. Then I play the guessing game.

indeed if your talking about the 240. They tend to do that mine does it super bad when i take a sweeping left turn it goes upi by 1/4 take and when i turn right it goes fown by a 1/4 tank but while driving there accurate so no worries!

240's have a little access panel to the top of the fuel tank in the hatch don't they? you can fix that yourself without pulling the tank out!
