go to autozone or something and have them check both your battery and alternator.

if it's reading 7v and you can still start your car then my bet is it's a bad guage. If a battery is at 7v, it's dead as a doorknob..

first off, check the wiring to and from the guage.

if that checks out fine then with the vehcile running check battery voltage. if it seems low, like 12 or so volts than it isnt charging properly. also check battery volatage before u run the vehicle and after...

and if ur lazy and dont want to get a little dirty then go to vatozoo or advanced to do there free test.

ill probaly edit this later, im sleeping.gif now

5k? I'm going with civic or something. you might find something better/faster, but it won't be as reliable and is more likely to break down. just don't buy something from a kid that's been driving it rough for the last few years

seriously, pick up a repair manual for ur blazer. chiltons or hayes are good. read up on the net and in the book(s) and take a crack at fixing it urself. blazers are realitivly easy to work on and the 4.3 whoretech is a good motor.

unless ur really hell bent on something newer than attempt to fix it. i bet 80% of the kids here can do most of there own work if they did a little research and are even remotely able to use hand tools.

mysterious overheat could be caused by electric fans running off a dead battery =P so when you fix that, it should hopefully fix your problems =)
