My shipment of LEDs finally came yesterday, and basically, I have 10 of every color now. But I can't decide what color(s) to do my fog lights with. I was originally thinking green/blue (4 green on the top row, 4 blue on bottom, in each), but I want to be able to leave them on while I drive. Now I think I'ld like to do white/blue. Since the white are so much brighter than the blue, won't the blue leds just give a bit of a tint to the overall light? Is that legal? My last resort is orange/white...it won't look amazing but it will be legal.

from what I have found, if you dont have blue near the white LED's they actually look a little blue.

white and amber are legal, all other colors are not.. forward lights have to be white or amber color... not to say you cant do whatever color you want.. id do blue and white, and if your concerned put teh blue on one switch and the white on another, so you have the option...

only 10 LEDS? are they the 10mm? Wont be exactly outstandingly bright. Then again I hooked up 24 total LEDS that faded from red to yellow to one of those paint mixing sticks that look like defective rulers last night and those were very bright. My dome light has nine red 5mm LEDS and I couldnt see using them in Foglights even for show, Id use more, but thats me.

I don't think he was using them as his actual fog lights. Just to have them light up a certain color.
Would the blue/white combo give you an HID effect? Anyone know how to get that kinda from mixing LEDs? |

The HID look *sigh* HID varies in tempertature range form gold to purple. But I assume you want the light blue you see on cars like audis, bmws, etc.
Only way you can figure that out is expirment with the ratio of white to blue I suppose. |

Yeah, that is exactly what I was going for.
... well my friend, but I volunteered to help. I thought maybe 2-3 white and one blue might do it. Probably put a blue in and keep adding white until its right. |
