Inferno V2 Million Color Advanced LED Underbody Kit

All Customer Questions

Question
When syncing this with your million color 6 inch tubes, when I go to wrap the wires around each other do I cut the shielding off first?
Answer
Yes, you'll need to strip the outer plastic off the wire to expose the bare metal. You can also just unscrew the 3 terminals of the green connector, and put these wires into it.
Question
What size fuse does the V2 control box use?
Answer
2 amp
Question
So i was wondering since im planning on hooking this system up along with the wheel well kit, is there any simple way to hook it up also with an interior lighting system, or would each have to be their own systems?? - by Gabe
Answer
You could purchase additional 6" V2 Tubes and hook them up to either controller.
Question
What are the differences between the Inferno V2 vs. the Original Inferno? - by Colby (Shady Shores, TX)
Answer
The V2 has Superflux LED's as opposed to the Original Inferno, so it is much brighter. The tubes have also been upgraded, so they are nearly indestructible!
Question
I currently have a kit on my truck that illuminates to a white color when the doors are unlocked remotely or opened, providing some entrance/exit illumination without the full-on light show. Problem is, the kit isn't bright enough for the other show aspects. I'm sure the Inferno V2 will be quite a bit brighter, but does it have the courtesy lighting feature? - by Dave (Manassas, VA)
Answer
It doesn't have this feature, but it turns on when you apply 12 volts of power to it. You could rig up a relay to achieve this.
Question
I've been following you for a bit, and due to a break in, my Avalanche will be upgrading from PlasmaGlow to the Inferno V2. I did have a few questions of my own:

1. my truck doesn't have running boards so a mounting point with a direct line of sight is up a bit further on the frame. what's the maximum distance (height) that you would recommend to see the V2's effects clearly? (ie: chase)

2. I'm installing a new security system. Is there anyway to hook the lighting system into that for either arm/unarm or alarm? If so, is there a way to control the pattern or will it revert to the last pattern in memory?

3. Does the line-in input for music response need an additional line-in available on the head unit? Can it be split?

4. Is your manual extensive or available online? I got a buddy who may follow my footsteps to the V2 and he had a really hard time learning how to control his old system, which was pretty simple. He wants to know if there is a big manual, video or tutorials included. LOL. Personally, i just need 1-3 answered. - by joey.digital (for.ever.mobile (st.)
Answer
1. Because of the extremely wide-angle LEDs, I'd say it is best to keep the tubes no more than 2 to 3 feet from the ground so that you can still clearly see the effects and patterns.

2. There isn't really a good way to integrate with the security system's arm/disarm function. You could try rigging up a relay to send the kit power when the arm/disarm is activated.

3. The line-in input for music response can be split with a simple "Y splitter" from any electronics store.

4. There's a manual included, but honestly it sounds like your friend may have a hard time learning this one as well.

Cheers!
Question
Does this kit will resist against snow, ice and salt? I am living in Quebec, Canada. I don't want to remove my kit during the winter... - by Jean-Francois (Canada)
Answer
Yes, this will resist against snow, ice, and salt. Here is something you should read.
Question
In looking at the videos I've found but I've yet seen the color orange... I was wondering if you could have a solid color on the ground with say a chase color like white beginning from the middle of the rear, breaking off into two seperate pieces and flow slowly or fast parallel to each other flowing up towards the front and meeting back in the middle of the front tube... And then starting all over again.? Like the ICELED UFO can do? - by Jeff (nashville)
Answer
Unfortunately we do not have a kit like this. Usually the color orange ends up being more of an amber color. I hope this answers your question.
Question
How many Amps is V2 for the 4 lights. And do the amps very between tubes sizes like a 6 feet and 4 feet.
Answer
The V2 alone will be around 2 amps. The differences between the tubes are too small to be important. And there is no six-foot tube =)
Question
Is there a demo mode, if so how do you work the remote - by DoubleDiamond
Answer
There is a demo mode. Hold down the pause button for a few seconds.
Question
How do you sync up the underbody kit to the wheel well - by DoubleDiamond
Answer
A wire is attached to a specific port on each ECU.
Question
Are there any advantage to the ICELED UFO over this system? - by Parth (Windermere, FL)
Answer
Yes there are advantages, such as better fluid transitions in patterns, more control over individual patterns and colors, and more expandability with the entire ICELED line. The V2 has advantages such as waterproof quick disconnects, a pause feature, super bright 2-chip LEDs (VERY bright), and in-house support.
Question
I'm having trouble getting mine to stay one steady color everytime I select C7 it goes back to the program it was running before hand... is there a way to fix this?? - by john (Florida)
Answer
Changing to C7 only changes the color. Press the "Normal" button until the display reads "A4" - that is the static color mode. Then adjust the color accordingly.
Question
Is there a limit to the number of 6" tubes that could be added to the V2 ? I noticed on the Wheel Well instructions it was limited to 2 extra tubes. I wanted to add at least 4 6" tubes inside the car to the V2 underbody kit - by Jim
Answer
No limit.
Question
Is there any limit on the length of wiring from the ECU. I have a Trailer I pull with my show car and want to put extra tubes under it - by Jim
Answer
No limit.
Question
How many extra tubes will this new V2 be able to support? - by Levi (Walker, LA)
Answer
Virtually unlimited add-on tubes.
Question
Will the expansion tube Emulate like the Iced kit or copy like the VI kit the tube it is expanding ? - by Avalanche
Answer
Adding the V2 Wheel Well Kit to each end of the tube will expand the last pixels. Won't be as fluid or fancy as the ICELED EXP kit, but will lengthen the tube another foot effectively.
Question
will there be a 1ft-3ft tubes that can be added onto the v2 like the v1? - by Chad
Answer
You can add 3 or 4 foot tubes. It is actually easier because you don't need a splitter. You can just put multiple tube's data/power wires onto each channel.

There won't be a 1 foot tube, but please consider the 6 inch tube!
Question
i noticed you said the tubes were longer then the v1. How long are the tubes of the v2? - by Chad (Princeton, WV)
Answer
Short tube: Appox. 41"
Long Tube: Approx. 51"
Question
are the tubes smaller in diameter than those of the V1?
Answer
No, they are exactly the same diameter.
Question
Why didn't you use 4-chip super flux leds? are 2-chip brighter?
Answer
2-chip were used because they are plenty bright and we feel the market would not support the extra cost of 4-chip.

Yes, 4-chip is brighter than 2-chip.
Question
Will you make expansion tubes. Will we ever be able to sync the million color flex strips with this kit?
Answer
What exactly do you mean by expansion tubes? If you mean adding additional tubes to the ECU, then yes it will definitely be available. If you are referring to something similar to the ICELED EXP kit, it is in our thoughts but not in any immediate plans. And no, the technologies used in the V2 are not compatible with the million-color flexible LED strips.
Question
Will the V1 become a discontinued item with the release of the V2? or will we still be able to buy a V1 at a later date (like 2-3 months down the road)?
Answer
You will still be able to buy both for a long time.
Question
Does the V2 have less led's than the original V1? Does it have less LED's than the UFO? - by Jeff (Texas)
Answer
The Blaze has 420. The Inferno V1 has 378. The Inferno V2 has 288. Iceled UFO has 252.

The number of LEDs doesn't really matter though. You've got to remember not all LEDs have the same light ouput.
Question
How long are the tubes that come in the package?
-Would you say these are brighter than ICELED? or Varad's ULX series?
-I noticed the original inferno has 378LED's does the V2 have more LED's or the same amount but just brighter bulbs?
-Can these "breathe" aka dim like Varad's ULX series? Example bright, dim, dimmer, off, dim, brighter, brightest, and so on
-Can these hook up to an alarm?
-What is the degree of dispurtion? litewave.co.uk states ICELED UFO system dispurses 100degrees. I would assume these are the same probably?
-can these also have (like the UFO) one solid color then a white light chase around the car?
-can this produce the color orange?

Thanks again.
Answer
They are brighter than both of those.
The V2 uses 2-chip superflux LEDs. These are uhmm... bright :)
No breathe.
Yes alarm.
The LEDs are around 110-120 deg
Yes, they can easily have a solid color and a chase color. It looks sweet.
Yes it can produce orange.
