What type of 470-ohm resistor works with these switches? I have some 470-ohm resistors already but the LED does not come on. Could you tell me what the correct type would be.

Any type should work. We use a 470 ohm carbon film resistor with a 1/4 watt power rating. Here it is: http://www.oznium.com/resistors

The LED is on a separate circuit from the switch, correct? What would the pre-wired price be, that would be extremely helpful. I would need 6-8 of these. Thanks - by Craig

Is the wiring diagram needed to make the LEDs work ,or can you just run the switch through a fused 12 to the 12- and still have the LED operate? Also is there any chance these could come pre-wired and ready to install? - by Craig

If you do not use the resistor, the LED will blow. A 3 volt LED on a 12 volt source with no resistor does not work...

It is possible that these could come pre-wired and ready to install, but the price would be more to cover labor.
