RGB Million Color LED Controller - Customer Questions
Frequently Asked Questions by Oznium Customers
Is there a wiring diagram for this model? The case has no markings for which wire on the led cable to plug into the controller. - by Michael (North Hollywood, CA)
Sorry for the confusion. You'll have to cut the piece off and have 4 separate wires. Wire those to the Strips.
since the new waterproof ribbon LED strips have the connects on them does the controller just plug right into it? sorry but i looked at the pictures and they arent too detailed on what the ends of the controller look like
The million color controller will not plug directly into it. It will have to be slightly modified to wire them together.
If I have (2) million strips do I have to use the controller for them to cycle together? If I just splice them together with the 12 V power source will they cycle with the same colors when turned on? - by Rent (Houston)
You will need to use the same controller for both strips to ensure they remain in sync.
Can this controller work in conjunction with a rotary dimmer? If so, any recommendation on whether the dimmer would be on the supply or output side of the controller? - by Don
No, this will not work with the rotary style dimmer switch.
I'm trying to splice the controller to 3 of your million color flex strips and am having problems getting it to work. Right now I've just got it hooked up to a 6v battery because I wanted to get it all working before I put it on my bike. The lights work fine by themselves on the 6V, but as soon as I try to splice them onto the controller the won't work. Is this because the controller needs the full 12V or am I wiring them wrong? I have the black controller wire going to ground on the leds, the red wire going to what I think is the red led lights, the green to the green leds, and the white to the blue leds. Any thoughts? A wiring diagram would be most helpful! Also, which is positive and which is negative on the "from the battery end" of the controller? I've got a solid black wire and one that's black with a white stripe. As you can tell, I'm kinda new to this...Thanks! - by Andrew (Adrian, MI)
The controller may not work on 6 volts. The center pin on the controller lead is pos
I want to hook up 8 million color flexible LED strips in my car. I want them to all be on the same color at the same time, will I need more than one of these to control all the strips in unison? - by Tim (Cleveland)
You'd just need a single controller.
I have 12 strips of LED, i wish to control the colour of each strip flowing gradually. How many controller do i need to make that happen?
If you want to control them all separately, you'd need 12 controllers.
Can u turn the strips completly off with the controller and if yes can u turn some off while leaving the other ones on?
No, you cannot turn the strips off with this controller. However, you can pause it on your desired color and it will remember the last color it was on when you turn it back on.
Do you have RGB amplifier to allow increasing the number of RGB LED Strips connected to a single cintroller. - by Gerardo (Puerto Rico)
No
If I hook this controller up to an LED strip that has just one color, would it fade the LEDs on that strip in and out?
The controller will control it to fade or static in and out.
How many strips can you connect in parallel to this device? - by tcrom
It depends on which style of LED Strip
we are wanting to put up led xmas lights this year, i was considering buying 50 of the 1foot led strips is there a way i can wire it to a plug and just plug it in the wall? - by ryan (strawberry plains, t)
You'd just need an AC adapter powerful enough for 50 feet.
if i want to place 2 LED strips parallel to each other about 5" apart would i have to have 2 controllers or can i still use 1 controller for both strips? thanks - by Michael (USA)
It is possible to place 2 LED strips parallel to each other about 5 inches apart with 1 controller for both strips.
do you have to have the controller for the million strip or can the million strip still cycle through the colors without the controller? - by Michael (USA)
Please refer to our "Flexible LED Strip-Million". This style of strip come with a "stand alone" ECU.
It will cycle through color on its own.

You will need the positive controller.
Can the controller be connected to a RGB luxeon led.
And how may of them can I connect(for 1 watt and 5 watt) - by Guna (Singapore)

The Million Color LED Controller has a 6A output limit. You could use 72 of the 1W LED's and 14 of the 5W LED's.
What is the difference between common+ and common-? I wanna use it with the thin led strip in my truck. - by Ricky (Dublin, Ca)
RGB / Million color lights have 4 wires.
RGB / Million color lights have 3 primary colors: Red, Blue, and Green.
Some light sources will have a common positive wire, meaning there is one positive wire, and 3 negative wires (for each of the 3 colors).
Some light sources will have a common negative wire, meaning there is one negative wire, and 3 positive wires (for each of the 3 colors).

So when you say it doesn't have memory, does that mean every time you turn the power supply/car on and off it will reset and stat cycling through the colors again? - by Ken (Tennessee)
The controller now has memory!
Whats the ampere for each channel colour(RGB) output? - by Eric (Singapore)
3 amps
how quicky does it cycle colors? when i watched the video i noticed if i wanted a specific color like orange or so it would be nearly impossible to get because it went so fast. also why was the strip flashing at some points during the video and flowing smoothly from color to color at other times? - by Robert (Northern NJ)
There is no way to have it flow smoothly without the strobing effect. They do change very quickly and it is difficult to pause it on a certain color. The rate and patterns are fixed. The only input/control is a momentary push button which pauses (or un-pauses) the cycle.
If I hook two or more 6 foot sections to one controller, all of the strips' colors will be in sync when pausing correct?
Yes
What gauge size is the of wire? The blue, red, green? A 22 gauge? 24? I'm so confused on the sizing. Please help.
It doesn't matter. Either will work fine.
I understand that I splice the 4 wires (blue positive, red positive, green positive) and the common ground from the controller to the flex strips to hook up multiple strips. What is the other AV jack thing for? Is it necessary?
I don't know what an "AV jack" is.
Can the controller be wired into a cigarette lighter type adapter or must it be directly wired to the battery or into the car's electrical system? - by Rick (Titusville, NJ)
Yes, you can wire it onto a cigarette adapter plug, or any other 12v source in your car.
How do I hook up 6 LED flex strips?
Splice the 4 wires (blue positive, red positive, green positive) and the common ground from the controller to the flex strips.
Will this controller have all the million strips that it controls changing color schemes together in sync?
Yes, They will all change together at the same time!
Does it have some sort of music interface? - by martin (Chicago)
