Question
how do i know what size strip to purchase for a 2009 nissan Altima.
Answer
Basically you have to use a tape measure. There's so many different options of how to install it. Only you can answer these questions: What kind of effect do you want? Where exactly do you want the light to go? Do you want it to go on the bottom of the headlight, the side, the top? Do you want it to go around the taillight?
Question
How many LEDs are in the 6 inch segment? Can it be cut and have the same number of working LEDs on each piece? - by Taylor (Texas)
Answer
9 LEds in a 6 inch strip These need to be cut every three leds and then cuts waterproofed with silicone
Question
Hi, this product looks good. I'm wondering how quickly the lights can flash. Would there be issues with wiring them to a switch that produces "strobe like" bursts of current?
Is there any potential for brighter LED's being used on the "side emitting" strips in the future? The brighter the better!
Cheers - by Aidos107 (Australia)
Answer
No issues at all with flashing. Go ahead and hook them up to a strobe controller.

We could use a different type of LED, but then the strip would not be as thin and easy to mount.
Question
Kind of off the subject of the product, but would I be correct in saying that the Ford Focus headlight in the photo has a hide-away strobe in it? - by Nate
Answer
It is a customers car; we do not know.
Question

Question
hi, any chance i can see what and how the amber colour version looks like please.. if you can kindly add a photo the product page please .. thanks :)
Answer
The orange is very similar to most other amber LED products. Until we can provide a more suitable photo, take a look at a similar LED's amber output here: http://www.oznium.com/product_photos/large/3252.jpg
Question
Which ones are more brighter the "flexable LED strips" or the "Side emitting LED strips" ???.In my opinion the Flexable LED strips are more thicker and more brighter than the "Side emitting LED strips".And the Side emitting LED strips are more thinner and not as bright as the flexable LED strips thats just my opinion.I just want to hear a little more incite from the person who runs this site and actual customers who own both of these items to let me know which ones i should buy so i can come down to a final decision.Im going for the color blue just to let ya know & i want them to really stand out with brightness !!!! basically i want it to be a head turner haha..Thanks alot any help is definitly appreciated. - by U.s (Baltimore Maryland)
Answer
You are correct, the flexible strips offer a 3000mcd rating as compared to the 90-120mcd rating of the side emitting led strips. Also keep in mind the flexible led strips are a different style of light strip.
Question

When you installed the strips on the outside of the headlight housing on your tC, were there any clearance issues when reinstalling the front bumper? - by Aaron (Camp Pendleton, CA)
Answer
Ahh, we didn't have to remove the front bumper nor the headlight on the tC.
Question
Can I paint the surface of the LED strip if I cover the actual LED with a thin piece of tape? My truck is black and they stick out pretty bad during the day.
Answer
Yes, go ahead and paint, I don't see why you couldn't. You realize the strip is already black though?
Question
Is the adhesive on the strip strong enough to withstand a car wash, automatic or manual?
Answer
Yes.
Question
I bough 9 inch led flex strips.... looks great but was wondering do you guys have bigger bulbs. Because during the day not as bright as I thought. - by sam

Unfortunately, no. We only sell one size of LEDs on our Side Emitting Strips.
Question
Do you guys plan on making more colors? - by Bobby (Bronx, NY)
Answer
What color(s) you interested in?
Question
Can they be used as turn signal or brake lights? - by rogers (deridder, la.)
Answer
Yes. Free free to use them however you'd like :)
Question
How would I wire these to be running lights like the Audi, but also function as turn signals? And what size fits under the tC headlamps? - by Brad
Answer
This more complicated wiring procedure is beyond the scope of what I'd like to explain here. Could you please ask on the Oznium Forums?

As far as which size fits under the tC, please just take a tape measure out to your headlight, measure, and see which length you'd prefer. There are a number of ways to mount them. You've got to decide what kind of effect you'd like. I personally used the 2 foot size under my tC headlights.
Question
How would you turn these off after driving. Is there a switch that they come with? - by Mike (Wisconsin)
Answer
To turn off any light, you simply need to cut the power going to it. This is usually done with a switch. Or another option would just be tying it into your headlight circuit, so that they come on when you headlights are on (and thus, off when your headlights are off).

Rather than include a switch with every LED strip, we sell switches separately, and encourage you to choose a style that you like.

If you have a chance, please browse our wide selection of switches to find a style that you like.
Question
How pliable is the strip? Can I turn a 90 degree or more angle with them? - by joe
Answer
You can bend them on a 90 deg bend. Just try leave a little room around the LED itself, meaning place the bend in-between two LEDs.
Question
Great Lights, and another question. I am installing my strips outside of my headlight along the edge. Would it better to have the leds facing down towards the road or facing upwards? - by Danny (New York, NY)
Answer
Thanks, glad you like them :)

Regarding the mounting, its up to you. How about trying them both ways and seeing what looks best.
Question
could thes hold up to high temp say an oven at 200 deg for 15min while reassembling headlights? - by chad (Pace, FL)
Answer
The operating/storage temperature extremes that it can handle are documented at -31 to 185 Fahrenheit. I still would be careful using them at these temperatures. Oznium will not be able to warranty these if they are damaged from extreme heat.
Question
How bright are they during the day time? - by Luke (Australia)
Answer
They are bright enough to be seen in the day time. But this is subjective. Direct sunlight? Shade?
Question
Will it be better to place these strips on the inside or outside of my headlights? - by Danny (New York, NY)
Answer
It is up to you whether you place them inside or outside, all 3 of the cars in our 'Action Shots' section we used them on the outside of the car. They are low-profile and completely waterproof to where a cover would not be necessary.

If it is too tight of a fit and you risk crushing the LED by putting it on the outside then I would suggest the inside of the headlight.

One advantage of putting them on the outside of the headlight, is that if the LEDs ever burn out, they will be easy to replace.
Question
What is the Lumen and Current rating on this product per foot? - by Sean
Answer
Sorry, the lumen rating has not been measured. The current draw is about 100 mA per foot.
Question
If I want them on in day time where do I connect the wires?
Answer
You need to hook them up to a 12 volt power source. You could tap them into your headlight power wires, which would automatically turn them on when your headlights are on. Or you could install a switch inside the car. There's many different ways to do it.
Question
Do you fit them inside or outside of the headlamps?
Answer
It is up to you. How do you want them to look? Putting them on the outside of the headlight is certainly easier, especially if you ever need to replace them.
Question
Are these side emitting strips water proof? They look like they've been coated with something but its hard to tell how.
Answer
They have indeed been coated with pvc silicone for a high degree of water resistance.
Question
If i were to buy a 2 foot and cut it right down the middle, both ends would still light up correct?
Answer
Yes, both ends would still light up - there's power wires coming out of each end for your convenience. And you can cut between every three LEDs.
Question
Any chance of making a side-emitting black LED strip with the 4-chip superflux? - by Alan
Answer
We could do that. Where do you plan to use it? What kind of specifications do you need? Length? Waterproof? How far apart should the LEDs be spaced?
Question
With the LED facing you, are the power leads available on left/right or both?
Answer
Have you had a chance to look at more photos? Power wires come out of both ends for your convenience. You could even plug multiple LED strips into each other. Or if you don't need the wire coming out of one end, you could always cut it off.
Question
does this product come in orange or amber to match the color of a traditional parking light bulb? - by Cals
Answer
Yes, the Yellow color is actually a yellow/amber/orange color that should match.
Question
