Question
Are the LED lights legal or illegal in CA? - by BAM (Corona)
Answer
Even if the law says they are legal, you could still get pulled over and hassled because the cops may not know the law. Even if they are illegal, you could go for years without getting pulled over because cops don't care enough, or might not see you. If you have some LEDs under your dash you will probably be ok. If you have flashing red and blue LEDs glued all around on the outside of your car, chances are, you'd get pulled over.
Trying to figure out the legality of LEDs in a certain area can be very difficult. It isn't as simple as looking up the vehicle code for your state. Vehicle code can be very confusing and conflicting. Even a call or email to your local police station can be misleading.
People have been told one thing and even had written proof, only to be pulled over and slapped with a ticket by an officer who may not know the intricacies of the law.
Regardless of the law in your area, there are things you can do to reduce your chances of being hassled.

- Hide the light source so it is not directly visible from the road. Make a shield with a long piece of "L" aluminum or steel. Use black electrical tape to hide a section of the light.
- Take extra caution to obey all laws. If LEDs are perfectly legal in your area, and you are speeding just a few miles over the limit, a cop is more likely to give you a speeding ticket than if you had no lights on.
- Save the strobing red/blue for the car show or your driveway. Blue and red might be fine to cruise with as a solid color, but as soon as they strobe, you may cross the line as "impersonating a cop"
- Keep a copy of the vehicle code in your car. You can just print or copy the section that deals with lighting. Present it to the officer if you are pulled over.
- Respect police officers. They protect you when you are being shot at, they protect you when your house is broken into. Respect them and they should respect you.
Question
Is there anyway to get this in Pink? I've seen Pink LED Kits from other brands but my club insists that Oznium are the best, and I want the best. I do however only want/need a single color in pink, so the inferno would not be cost effective. - by Stacie (Ft. Lauderdale, Flor)
Answer
Because pink LEDs are not reliable, we have no plans to make a pink Single Color underbody kit. We easily could, but the reliability and quality would not be good. Your best bet is to pay a little extra for the Inferno kit, and just set it on pink. It will use a combination of blue and red LEDs, which are completely reliable!
Question
If the kit goes into demo-mode when first powered on, what can I expect if I hook them up to the dome lights on my tC to turn on/off when I unlock/lock my car? Will the light be solid or will there be a pattern? - by Mickey (Redondo Beach)
Answer
As you know, since there is no memory, whenever power is applied to the Single Color kit, it will go into demo mode.
If you're hooking it up to the dome light, make sure the dome light gives out a constant 12V. If not, you might want to add a relay to protect the underbody kit from under-voltage.

Question
Does this product come with everything I need to install it? - by lena (austin)
Answer
All of our underbody kits are designed to be easily installed. They all come with mounting hardware, power wires, an on/off switch, and a fuse.
Depending on your vehicle, you may need to supply a variety of tools. Raised trucks will not need jacks, or jack stands, but if you have a low vehicle, you'll need to supply your own jack and jack stands to safely lift it. Most installations will also need a cordless drill with set of drill-bits. Common tools like handheld screwdrivers are also useful. You may also consider using wire loom to tidy up the power wires.
In addition to a few tools, you'll also need a helpful friend, cold drinks, and some pizza =)

Question
I am a Volenteer Fireman I am thinking of attaching the Red Single Color Kit to Strong Magnets and placing them on the Roof. having the 4 footers facing forward and the two 3 footers facing backwards and connecting it to the Cigarette lighter plug. (to Switch between 2 cars). Do you think they will be bright enough for this? - by Bob (Western North Caroli)
Answer
It would be bright enough, but I'm not sure if the functionality of the UB kit would work well for an emergency vehicle look. You're welcomed to try it out, though.
Question
Is it possible to add the multi-color tubes later on to this kit? - by Mike (St. Louis)
Answer
Unfortunately, that is not possible. The LED's in this model will be one color LED's they do not have color changing capabilities.
Question
how does the remote control work, does it just turn the kit on an off? and how could i wire this to a switch inside my car, is it just red/power black/ground wires like the prewired LEDs that you offer? - by matt
Answer
The remote control turns the underbody kit on and off as well as changes the patterns and features of the kit. All necessary installation equipment is included with the FlowLighting Single Color underbody kit.
Question
Can you cut the Cat5 cable so you can have a smaller opening instead of trying to run the connector through a grommet ? also how much draw on power is it if you leave you leave the display on and just power the unit off with the remote ? - by brad (Peoria, IL)

You can cut the Cat5 wire. Just make sure you know what you're doing if you attempt that.
Draw on power - we're not sure. It's a very small amount.

Question
Can these be hooked up without the ECU? I'm just looking for simple operation(comes on in sync with interior lights). I can wire up a relay to the interior lighting, but I don't know if it'll work with this unit. If the unit gets power, will it just turn on(then turn off ok when switched power is killed)?
Answer
It is physically possible to bypass the ECU and hook power directly to the tubes.
If you wire up a relay to give power to the ECU, the kit will turn on to demo mode (scanning patterns). Then when the relay cuts power, the kit will obviously turn off.
If you don't need any patterns, and plan to bypass the ECU, you'd be better off with just wiring up some flexible LED strips, as they will be brighter and can cover more area under the car.

Question
Does the ECU for the FlowLighting kit have a fuse built into it or do I need to add my own in-line fuse? If so, what amp rating is the included fuse and what is the overall amperage draw on a Single Color FlowLighting kit all set up and running? Thanks. - by Paul (Nap-Town, FL)
Answer
There is a 2 amp inline fuse included on the power wire. Power draw is about 2 amps.
Question
I know a few people who have the single color led kit and I would like to have one myself but I need it in purple, is it possible to get the single color underbody led kit in purple? - by Seth (Texas)
Answer
No, unfortunately LEDs do not come in purple, and there are extra costs when using two different LED colors in a UB kit.
Question
Are the tubes on the FlowLighting Single Color underbody kit long enough for my large truck? - by ted
Answer
The tubes are 3 feet (front/back) and 4 feet (left/right).
You should measure your truck and determine if this is enough for your needs.
You will likely think 14 feet of tubes is not enough for a full glow on the truck. You could use 2 kits end to end. Another good option would be using at least 25 feet of the Flexible LED Strips or Beefy LED Strips. They are waterproof and flexible, so you can easily take the glow into the wheel wells too.
