When you use 2 strips of million color LEDs without the controller will they be in sync when they are given power at the same time? and what are the dimensions of the $9.99 Million Color LED Controller (box dimensions and wire lengths) thanks - by Michael (USA)
Answer
But how would you use them without the controller? If you use multiple controllers, they will go out of sync. If you use one controller, they will stay in sync. The dimensions are about 2.5" x 1" x 1.5"
Question
Hi,can you please explain to me HOW I could hook up the million color strip in my Xbox 360 and what extras I would need to purchase?Thx!!LB.
Answer
As long as there is a 12volt power source inside the XBOX, just a simple positive and negative hook up and you should be good to go.
We normally deal with cars and boats, I would also check out some of the XBOX forums and see if anyone else has done this modification.

Question
Do you have pics of these in orange? I'm trying to find dark orange led strips to match the interior of my xD. - by Ryan
Answer
http://www.oznium.com/thin-led-strip/photos
Look for the last picture, the Orange LED strip is the 2nd from the left.
I would have to say that you probably won't find a "Dark Orange" anywhere.
Most colors of LED's are that true color, shades of colors are hard to come by.

Question
are these waterproof i want to make a indoor fountain and use these to light up the water they will get wet - by xtremsounds (bartonville il)
Answer
They are waterproof except for the connector/extension part. When installing them, you should make sure to seal the connections with silicone and heat shrink tubing.
Question
I'd like to wire these LEDs for another project. Can I purchase the LEDs used in this strip? Are these different from the "Surface Mount PLCC-2 SMT LEDs" at http://www.oznium.com/plcc-2?
Answer
We do not have access to the LED's used in the Thin LED Strips.
The PLCC-2's are 2x larger in height and width.
The PLCC-2's are 2x larger in height and width.
Question
Do single color strips have LEDs placed closer to each other? Tech spec says single color has 36 per foot while million color has 12 per foot.
Answer
Single color Thin LED strips do have 36 LED's per foot, very small Surface Mount LED's grouped in 3's.
The Million color Thin LED Strips use a different, bigger type of LED to produce light, It's called a 50/50 LED, which requires only 12 LED's.

Question
Can these lights be bent at a 90 degree angle? - by Eviljack (Allentown PA)
Answer
This is not recommended with this product. I would suggest using the Thin Waterproof Ribbon LED Strips for this.
Question
If I order 10 feet is it 10 1 foot sections or 1 length at 10 feet
Answer
If you order a quantity of "10", you will get 10 separate 1 foot sections. They can be connected together.
Question
Is it possible to make these lights "not as bright" by using a lower voltage?....i'm going to use them on my car for ambient lighting, i would want a "glow" rather than them lighting up my whole interior. And also what shade is the orange?, i would rather prefer an amber color. - by Jeremy
Answer
What I suggest is wiring a resistor to the LED if you want it to be dimmer.
Question
Is it possible to make these lights "not as bright" by using a lower voltage?....i'm going to use them on my car for ambient lighting, i would want a "glow" rather than them lighting up my whole interior
Answer
Yes, it is possible to dim LED's by regulating the voltage.
Question
What exactly is the purpose of the plug that comes on the end of the wires? Is it designed to attach to something? - by Brandon (Livingston, TX)
Answer
Since many people use these for non-automotive applications such as residential or commercial lighting, the plug that comes attached to the end of the wires is designed to easily attach to an AC adapter. You can simply cut the plug off, and hook up the wires to 12 volts.
Question
out of the flexible LED strips and the thin LED strips, which are brighter?
Answer
The Flexible LED Strips are brighter. For many other good comparisons, look at the quick comparison chart on the main Flex Strip page: http://www.oznium.com/flexible-led-strips
Question
If I hook these up to the same controller as my flathead Million color trips. Will these do the same functions as the Flatheads do? (slowly changing colors) or will it kinda just strobe like on the video - by Trent (Florence, OR)
Answer
Sorry, the Thin LED Strips use a common negative wiring setup, unlike the Flathead strips which use a common positive. They are not compatible using the same controller. However, you can use the Thin Waterproof Ribbon LED Strips with your current controller. The Ribbon strips are very similar in size, and they're brighter!
Question
If i wanted to hook the led strip too my flashers directly, like, negative and positive sides by cutting off the plugs, will they flash with the flashers, for example a left and right flasher, or both? - by jay (Ohio)
Answer
If you mean hooking them up to your turn signals, yes you should be able to hook them up to the positive/negative wires. You might get a faster flasher rate, though, due to the lower power draw of LEDs.
Question
I'm looking at these thin strip lights as accents around the top of the wall in certain rooms in my home. There are moldings placed about 1/2 inch away from the ceiling. This will be pretty expensive by the time I get about 100 ft. of length of it. Do you have any other in either channel of rope lighting which would be better suited for this job and less costly with conversion from 110 vac to DC current ? thanx so much. Tommy in South Carolina . . . - by Tommy (South Carolina)
Answer
Since you don't need the product to be flexible, I would use 60 x Piranha bars http://www.oznium.com/piranha-bar with a 15A amp., 12 volt power supply. Your total cost would be $899 instead of $2000 for the Thin Strips.
Question
I want to light my glass vanity top with LED strips and potentially also wrap the around the sink. Which product would you recommend and what else would I need to buy so I can turn them on and off and dim them from a switch?
Answer
Any of our strips will work, it just depends on if you need to protect against water (in that case, choose a waterproof one), and which style you think would look best. To turn them on and off you will need a 12V DC power source (try our AC Adapters), a switch (lots here), and wire to hook everything up. For dimming, you will need to rig up a potentiometer. Your local electronics store should have them, and explain their function!
Question
it problay already says somewhere but im to lazy to read everything, how hard are these to hook up compared to cathodes? - by kurt (monterey park)
Answer
Same simple two-wire hookup. You just need to cut off the plug that is attached to the wire when you receive it.
Question
can i pause on any color with the controller, like could i pause it on purple? and how many of these can hook up to one controller so that they will all pause on the same color? - by kurt (monterey park)
Answer
Yes, you can pause it on any color of the rainbow and with one controller you can link up to 20 pieces!
Question
how exactly do you hook them up and what do you have to buy besides a LED strip to get them workin?
Answer
They are a standard two-wire hookup to your vehicle. Check out our message boards for wiring explanations: http://www.oznium.com/forum/how-to-diagrams
You will need additional wiring and a way to hook up a power source. That forum will explain further.

Question
I'd like to see these in a clear housing also. I want to mount a strip on the visor over my windshield on my truck. Problem is the truck/visor are silver and the think a black strip will not look great during the day. I'm thinking I could buy the black ones and paint it silver between the LEDS, but that may look funny also.
Answer
No plans to develop these in a clear housing as of right now. Perhaps you'd consider the waterproof ribbon strips. They're brighter than the thin strips, too!
Question
I want to make them into a choker for the playa.... how do i power them small and on the move? - by jill (reno nevada)
Answer
You would need to find a relatively small 12v battery power supply of some sort. Check your local electronics stores.
Question
I just purchased the thin led lights and it didn't come with a control box but it has plugs on the end wire. Do i need a control box or can i just cut the ends and splice my own wires to a switch. - by Terrence (ITALY)
Answer
You do not need a control box; just cut off the plug to use standard positive/negative hookups for a car.
Question
I was at a car show this weekend in Italy and i seen a car with the thin lights like this but the housing was clear silcone and the lights were very small where you couldn't see them. I see you have a black housing do you have the clear as well. I don't want the strips to be seen during the day until i turn them on. - by Terrence (Italy)
Answer
No clear housings for the Thin LED strips available at this time. We will keep this product idea in our thoughts, though.
Question
i am trying to hook these strips under the tC door(between the bottom part of the door and the side skirt) so they work as puddle lamps... if i hook them up to the dome light, will they dim on and dim off just like the dome lights. also i connect one to the + of the battery and dont i connect the other to the ground instead of the - terminal of the battery? or how do i hook them up to the dome light(the + and -)?i have an '07 tC. - by Saurabh (Boyds, MD)
Answer
They will dim with the dome light. Tap directly into the positive and negative wires of the dome light.
Question
Are these as bright as a standard cold cathode tube light?
Answer
Yes very bright
Question
When you turn the lights off will it come back on at the same color you left it on? (like not it the flashing mode)
Answer
yes
Question
Right now I have a hollow tube multi color LED plasmaglow kit on my car but they've gotten busted and broken as I've gone through car washes. I'm currently having an air ride installed so I will be able to lift the car during washes.
When I replace the lights I want to go with something that won't be so large and vulnerable.
Will these lights be a good replacement? Like 2 lengths of 3 feet, and 2 lengths of 4 feet (even though you don't sell 4 foot lengths but can they produced in 4 foot lengths?). - by Larry (Salem, Oregon)

Answer
The thin LED strips would work well for that application, however I think you'd be disappointed with the brightness. I'd suggest either the Flexible LED Strips or the Beefy LED strips for undercar usage.
Question
What is the distance between the LED's?
Answer

Question
Is there any way to control how fast the leds change color? The video shows them cycling colors really fast, I would be interested in them cycling at a slower speed. - by Ryan (Hammond, LA)
Answer
Not with this controller. It is possible, but you'd have to build your own controller, or find another one. We're working on a new one, but it will be many months.
Question
My understanding is that the black light/UV LED's tend to fail rather quickly, any idea as to life? Can we adjust life by increasing/reducing voltage? How much? - by Terry (Sugar Land,Tx)
Answer
I haven't heard that about the UV LEDs. I know the pink LEDs have a very short life. You can certainly extend the life of any LED by giving it less voltage. For example, instead of giving it 12 volts, give it 10 volts.
Question
Can the cut section of these be reused or is it like the flexible led strips where it is hard to do?
Answer
It is easier to re-use the cut section of the thin LED strips.
Question
Has anyone used your LEDs on a motorcycle??? - by Steve (Whitney, Texas)
Answer
Of course, it is easy to use many of our products on motorcycles, or ATVs or boats or in your home!

A little less than half an inch.
Question
At 12 Volts what is the current draw per LED for each color? - by Mark (Colorado)
Answer
The whole 12 inch strip draws 200 mA
Question
How many of the RGB LEDs per foot? Do I have access to each color individually so that I can design my own controller? - by Mark (Colorado)
Answer
12 RGB LEDs per foot. You can access each color individually. There is a common negative, and 3 positives.
Question
I know that the other strips (Flexible LED Strips) are not worth the effort to re-use the cut portion of a strip. Is this Thin Strip is the same, or is it easier re-use these? Because i need like 4 5" strips of this ones.. And that size is not available.
Answer
There are connectors on either end, so once you cut it in the middle, you can easily use the 2 sections. You just need an extension cable (along with the 4 prong connectors).
Question
Are these strips compatible with the RGB Million Color LED Controller? - by Ivan
Answer
Yes, that is what they are designed for.
Question
Are there any plans, or the possibility of these strips working with the FlowLighting Inferno kit?
These would make everything more complete, like wheel wells and other places to fill "gaps" in the lighting? - by Jason (Royersford, PA)

Answer
There are plans to develop some add-on products for the FlowLighting line, however they can take a while. And yes, LED strips are a great solution for filling gaps in your underbody kit or other glow needs.
Question
I want to roll legal since I'm in the city. They only let me put orange and yellow on my car. Could I make the light stay at a firey deep orange? - by ray (prince albert, sask,)
Answer
Yes that is possible. By combining varying intensities of red, blue, and green LEDs, you can produce any color.
Question
Can you cut them in half? - by charles
Answer
Yes. The Thin LED Strips have markings on the back where is it safe to cut. They are placed about 3" apart from each other. The 12" strips have 3 markings where it is safe to cut. The LED's are wired in series of three, so if you cut in another area, you could lose some.
Question
Is this compatible with the ICELED Zen Controller?
Answer
No, unfortunately not. The Iceled Zen controller has a proprietary data source only compatible with Iceled products. It is also not compatible with the new Iceled Flexidriver.
Question
How do you install this? I have checked out the "more photos" section and it seems like a weird connector. I will be using this in my car, so do i need a transformer or something? Does the extension connector comes included in the price? And the white of the Flexible LED strip is the same white of those thin ones? - by Ivan (Venezuela)
Answer
This forum post explains how to use the connector (you do not need a transformer or anything else for your car). The extension and connector pieces are included in the price. The colors between the different styles of LED strips can vary slightly, as they all use different types of LEDs.
