Aluminum LED Angel Eyes
Aluminum LED Angel Eyes
Q: Could these halos flex enough follow a slight curved corner on a headlight? - by DFI-Mobile
A: Sorry, no.
Q: Which ~100mm Angel Eyes (COB, Super Thin, Aluminum) version is the brightest? - by Christo (Brooklyn, NY)
A: COB.
Q: how could i attach these to the headlight?
A: Epoxy seems to work well.
Q: I want to place the rings on/over headlights, and fog lights. So, do I measure the headlights and fog lights bulb or what do I actually measure to get correct size ring? - by Dani
A: You would measure the area for the headlights and fog lights.
Q: Any chance of a 7" inner diameter aluminum ring angel eye becoming available? This would fit many Harley headlights and would look great on the LED headlight. - by Albert (Honolulu, HI)
A: Sorry, no plans unless there's significant demand for this size.
Q: if it is very bright can i decrease the brightness with resistor
A: While technically a resistor could decrease the brightness, you'd be better off using an LED dimmer.
How about this one: Inline LED Controller.
Q: Would these work as day time running lights or are they not bright enough? - by Kamil
A: The brightness is subjective, and its hard to say whether they will be bright enough for your needs.
Perhaps order a set, see if they are bright enough, and if not, you're always welcome to return them.
Q: Can you cut the 100mm Angel eye in half between 2 sections and jumper wire them back together? I have a mounting screw in the way in a tail light lens. - by Alan (Waynesboro, PA)
A: You could cut one section of LEDs out, but you can't cut two separate sections of LEDs out and then re-wire it.

If you need to cut two separate sections in different parts, you should just buy an extra set of Angel Eyes.
Q: Can these be rigged to work off of some AA or AAA batteries? These are perfect for a ring light for a 35mm lense. - by manuel (marysville washingto)
A: Eight AA batteries, here are the battery packs: https://www.oznium.com/install-bay/12v-led-battery-holder or https://www.oznium.com/install-bay/12v-rechargeable-ni-mh-battery
Q: Will rain short these out if I mount them around the outside of my fog lights?
A: Probably not.
Q: are these waterproof?
A: The rating is IP67

Which means:
Dust tight = No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact
Immersion = Ingress of water in harmful quantity shall not be possible when the enclosure is immersed in water under defined conditions of pressure and time (up to 1 m of submersion). Test duration: 30 minutes
Immersion at depth of 1m
Q: Do these come with 12v investors?
A: These come all ready to be hooked up directly to your 12V power source. Yes, there's resistors already on the circuit board, next to the LEDs.
Q: How do you wire these rings so that they run with during the daytime?
A: Simply hook them up to any 12V power source that is running during the daytime.
Q: Approximate wattage per ring?
A: Please see the "Technical Info" tab.
You'll see its 80mA to 145mA depending on the color and size.
So in watts this would be 0.96 to 1.74.
Q: I know you produce these Halo's in 6 colors, but could you build these in RBG? - by Jeremy (United States)
A: We certainly could.
Just only makes sense if you can buy enough qty.
Q: I want to mount the 100 mm green rings on the outside of the headlight lens of a Grizzly ATV with round headlights. I see these are IP67 so they should be able to handle getting wet or submerged on a water crossing? Can the rings handle the vibration that comes with riding a ATV? Do the rings have 3m tape on the back of the ring? Can I use a controller to stobe the led rings to be seen for safety when riding? - by Ron (Chardon, Ohio 44024)
A: They angel eyes will be OK with the moisture and vibration on the ATV. No tape on the back but you could add some. To strobe them you could use this: https://www.oznium.com/switches/12v-remote-dimmer-strobe-switch but realize the receiver box is not waterproof.
Q: What is the viewing angle of the LED's? Also, what is their intensity if hooked to straight 12v? What specific model of LED are they, they look like they may be 5050's? - by Randy (Alaska)
A: 3528 size, so approximately the standard 110 degree viewing angle.
Yes, they are of course designed to be hooked straight to 12v, but we haven't tested the luminosity.
Q: What is the spacing center to center of the LED's on your 100mm ring? 80mm ring? Thank you - by Randy (Alaska)
A: 80mm ring is 10.11 mm or .398 inches, 100mm ring 9.22 mm or .363 inches.
Q: How would you mount these in a motorcycle in the headlight area and aux lights. - by Paul (Troy, NY)
A: How about using sticky tape.
Q: Are these LEDs pre-wired? - by Matthew (Michigan )
A: Yes.
Q: is there any better action shots of these? I c ant find any - by kasey (North Bay, Canada)
A: Only what is on the webstie. It is a new item so we don't have many pictures yet.
Q: can i connect it directly to my day time running lights?
A: Yes
Q: i seen this asked but want further details, when cut and i got a circle for say is 75mm instead of 80mm will it bend that far? also i got one measureing 133mm its too bad there only 80 and 100mm
A: It is in a rigid aluminum housing. Thus it will not bend. Even if you cut it.
Q: Whats the best way to mount them inside the headlights? - by Devon (los angeles)
A: Some sort of glue or epoxy is what most people use.
Q: What amount of resistance must I use in a 12v system?
A: None. These are 12v ready
Q: is It correct to assume that they can withstand the heat of being installed inside the headlight assembly? - by bob (bethpage ny usa)
A: Correct
Q: When cut can these leds be bent to make a smaller diameter?
- by Darron (Rockville,MD)
A: Yes, but not by much. They'll bend just slightly.
Q: what do you recomend as the best way to cut the ring? - by Joe (White House, TN)
A: A dremel cutoff wheel.

Q: what size would you think would fit a 2011 Scion xb headlight? - by Bryce (Ft Whizzy)
A: Sorry no idea what size will fit.
Can you please measure?
Q: How do I know which size to order?
A: The best way is to just measure the space where you want to put it.
For example, use a tape measure, ruler, etc.
Q: The angel eyes come in 2 sizes? - by Baltimore (Baltimore , MD)
A: Correct.

As you can see, they are available in 80mm and 100mm.
