Hey there folks. I'm replacing the 194 lights in the instrument cluster of my 1990 Maxima and I'm having trouble finding bright white 194 bulbs. I've tried the side-emitting 194 bulbs and 5-led side firing 194 bulbs and neither seem to be very bright in my dash and I end out with dead spots. So I'm looking for some good filiment bulbs that are bright white. Anyone know where I can get some? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Have you tried autolumination.com. They have a very large selection of 194 bulbs. If you still can't find anything that bright enough then you might want to consider making something custom to your liking.

I got some white 194 with 4 3mm and 1 3mm superflux LED. Maybe you want to try that?

I have a set of those already installed that I got from superbrightleds.com and those turned out purple-ish and dull. I'd love to give your 194 bulbs a whirl though. Perhaps they will be....dare I say....white and bright?!? icon_smile.gif My instrument cluster takes for of those 194 bulbs. BTW...I havn't called Oznium in quite awhile. Is my old Oznium voice message still there? icon_razz.gif

Here is the picture of the single led side-emitting 194 bulb and 5-led 194 bulb vs. a standard Sylvania 194LL. I got both LED bulbs from superbrightleds.com and I am quite disappointed with them.

Yep still you @ the 800 number. I've been thinking about changing the message around a bit. I hope you haven't gone mute or anything icon_cool.gif

To confirm, your address is still at 8695? I will pop some in the mail so you can test them.

And if these LEDs don't work out, I'm happy to custom make some until you are satisfied.

Phil, tell me more about your 194 bulbs... I need some blue ones for my door sill lamps and my dome light, and your 5 LED ones intrigue me. Also, could you do amber for my driving lamps? I was going to go with Autolumination's ones, but I like your customer service, so... Honestly, I didn't realize you had such a product (sorry).

I got the LEDs today from Phil. One looks like a 10mm LED on a white 194 base and the other looks like the 5-LED bulb in the picture I posted, but with a white 194 base. Hopefull, the 5-LED one will be brighter and more white than the ones I'm already using. The ones I'm using now are like a purple-ish HID color and are sliiiightly brighter than the stock dim bulbs. I'll post pics tonight. icon_smile.gif

EDIT....(update)
Well I tried both of Phil's 194 LED bulbs and sadly, the 5-led one was no better than the one I already have. The Single 10mm 194 bulb just plain didn't work. The instrument cluster on my car (much like most modern cars without a digital display) use light piping to carry the light to where it needs to be. Kinda-sorta like fiberoptics.
