Went to.. I think it was a dB drag.. today in Stevens Point. Sadly, my ride left before the actual competition started, but there were still some nice rides and setups that were there just to show off. I took a couple pics and figured I'd show them on here.

First off, here's a video of perhaps the loudest car there. 2 Pioneer Premier SQL series 12's in a ported box. I've never been in a car with a serious system in it before, but I poked my head into it and.. WOW. 150 (or so he claims) dBs of goodness. My ears felt weird like underwater and my skin felt all tingly when I got out. It was cool. I did research, and I'm pretty sure the Premiers he was running go for $1000 a piece (on the site I found at least)

It's hard to tell how awesome the system was, but here's the vid on my crappy phone.

Here's the MTX Audio display truck. 4 15's and it still didn't seem to hold a candle to some of the other power there. Haha. It had some sweeeeet fiberglass work in it, though.

This here's a Mazda with a turbo lic. plate on the front.. I was skeptical. Went over by it and the guy opened the hood. Sure enough, it's got a turbo. He said it pushed about 16 psi. It was a real clean car and the guy was really cool, I guess he came up from Chicago for this, idk why though, haha.

Finally there's this.. beauty. Wow, I suppose if you don't have the box or equipment itakes to really get it loud you can always run.. SIX subwoofers.
Yea, 2 Eclipse 12's, I think and Ecplise 15, and 4 Punch 12's (if I remember right)

That truck with 6 woofers has to sound terrible. Not only did he mix different brands, but also different sizes icon_confused.gif Probably a good variety of amps too. Makes me queasy just looking at it.

Didn't sound as bad as I had expected, but still I wouldn't be proud to be the one running it.

the loudest vehicle ive sat in has been scottie johnsons van, at the time it was 9 15s, it did a 168dbs in db drag, I thought i was dead, i pretty much fell out of the van.

The loudest ive done on the new db drag termlab( I have one) is a 158dbs, and the loudest on the old audio control meter is a 167(easy mic)

The big dogs are hitting 179.8dbs now.

I doubt that trunk setup was hitting 150dbs if he was able to play music on it. I'd have to see the inside, but it's very hard for a trunk setup to hit 150, and nearly impossible if the box can still play music.

I edited it after I relooked at the pic but I only changed the number of punches and not the total. Ooops, my bad, lol. icon_lol.gif

I'm going off what the guy said, so he may be BSing, yea. I dunno.

That RE wall setup is huge, that's amazing.
