I took my mom's 76' Monte Carlo out this weekend both days to try and burn a bunch of gas out of it before it goes into storage for the winter really soon.
Me and my friend decided to stop by a good photo spot and grap a few pics, so here they are.
BTW, it's got the 350 V8 in it, but only the 2 barrel carb. Not sure the difference a 4 barrel would make, but right now it's super slow and seems underpowered.
Maybe because it's really heavy, or maybe because it hasn't been driven since May ( icon_evil.gif grrr ).
My Park Avenue's faster than it, haha. But then again this doesn't have overdrive gear in it.
The paint's not original, but the color is the same as it came stock, and my mom's been the only owner of it. It's super rust free for a Wisconsin car all its life! There is some bubbling under the Landau on the driver's side though. Boo.

I'll snap some interior and engine pics for you guys if you want tomorrow or Tuesday. I've gotta fix a headlight and clean the car inside and out (it's so dusty from benig in the garage, and the interior is just kinda dirtyish).

Enjoy.

Ok, overdrive wont make the car any faster, that is for a low engine speed on the highway while cruising. It's probably "slow" because of the final gear ratio (slap a 4:10 posi rear end in it) and the 4 barrel carb (Edelbrock), tune-up, a better ignition (MSD) and a shift kit will make a HUGE difference. It will be launching and ripping gears like no-bodies business.

Heh, opps, I got my terminology messed up. I always just referred to the car dropping into a lower gear when the gas pedal is pressed all the way down as overdrive.
That's a big my bad, thanks for correcting me man.

If I ever run out of things to do on my car and get the ok to tinker with this one that's the type of thing I'd love to do to it. Plus clean up the filthy/rusty-ish engine bay.

Heheheh, that's how they do in Mosinee. The setting/dirt road/car makes me think of Dukes of Hazzard.

That gets done, too. The gas in there now is really old, though, and definetally needs to be run out to get some new stuff.

oh yeah, jsut noticed Aken's comment.
Haha, yea I like that spot, with the power lines down the dirt road and stuff.
It ain't as snazzy as some of the cool stuff in MKE, but I try. hehe.

Sorry but that bubbling is rust.

As for the car. HOLY BOAT BATMAN. Way too big of a car for me. Ill stick with my little neon. It does look pretty cool though and that is a damn nice spot to snap some pics. I say clean up the engine bay though. Nice car though.
