Paint came out nice cept for dust like usual. Not sure if I like the look though. Hopefully it will grow on me. If not I will probably end up spraying the a differnt design and more of the hood with just parts of the cf showing. IDK yet. I am kinda bummed I though it would look awsome. Maby I was wrong to do this? Did I just kill the look of my car?

It doesn't look bad. I just like Raw-non-painted cf.

But like I said, It doesn't look bad.

EDIT: It actually took me a minute to figure out what the hell you did. Then I noticed the paint.

LOL what did you think I did? It is growing on me already. Time will tell.

Main reason I did this is there was some rock chips and scratches on teh scoop. So I though hey. I will paint it black. It will look cool. And will cover up those. And then I can reclear the whole hood.

Well before I posted my first post I was thinking "Did he paint his front bumper? Or change his headlights? What the hell is up with the hood gap...oh..."

Well If you were painting over rock-chips than sweet-chicken!

EDIT: Makes it more aggressive looking icon_razz.gif

I like it more and more every time I go outside to look at it. Time will tell. If I end up not liking it then I will just spray the whole damn thing black. And maby just a couple small hints of cf in it.

But I want more responses!!!! What do you think?!?!?

I agree with tim, paint the entire hood the color of the car, will flow better IMO. I think black cars with carbon look odd. And when i get a carbon hood i will be painting it. Really i think the best car to pull carbon off in is a white one. Or silver.

I like it but I guess I'm a minority in that category. I think something should be done with the running lights, maybe black them out? or maybe it's just the hood gap making it look weird.

after all day. I def grew on me. I like it now. Time will tell. If worse comes to worse I may spray the whole hood black. Or just take my time and sand off the black and just reclear the whole hood. So not a total loss. THanks for the imput all.

I would highly suggest painting the whole hood to match the car. I have always believed carbon fiber on a car just sticks out like a soar thumb, there are exceptions though, some can do it and pull it off, but on yours, it just looks out of place and ruins the flow. Just my .2 cents. If you like it then keep it my friend. I really do like that hood though, was a great choice, just paint match the ******! haha

haha. yes they are. Are they hooked up? No. Do I think teh chrome surprisingly looks good with my chrome wheels and headlights? Yes! So they stay. They came with the hood when I bought it. I actually like them. I am ricer at <3 icon_smile.gif

And BTW It has grown on me ALOT and I really like it now. Buffed it out a little and it looks better. Not as much dust but still some in teh base cuz I was an idiot and forgot to tack rag it. Still looks great though. I love it now.

Well since you don't have them wired and you like the look.....I'll let you slide this time Mr. icon_lol.gif

I'm actually kinda on the fence about your hood, maybe if we could possibly see a new pic with better lighting,it would possibly look different/better? icon_cool.gif

I never understood the point of painting a CF hood, then you can't appreciate the carbon fiber look at all. I vote no paint, and those washer nozzles ruin everything.

Thats because in the beginning carbon was there to be piece of show like it now mostly is. It was meant to reduce weight on cars that needed less weight to achieve higher speeds quicker. I.E. The NSX. Anyways do you what you think looks good because its what matters.

I still think on a show car unless it's white typically i hate carbon flows so unevenly unless you have carbon intergrated in MANY parts of your car including interior as well as other body parts.

Buffed it out a little yesterday. Looks better now. I really like it now. It is def staying. And people on a neon board that I posted this on said they really like it too. Cept for the "OMG WTF YOU KILL CF!" But most of them said it was unique and really accented the car nicely.

I think it looks pretty good... I might have gone with a flat black, or a low-gloss black, to keep it from standing out as much. Pretty much everyone on here knows my opinion on CF, so I'll just keep it to myself biglaugh.gif

Well im now in agree that the hood is actually pretty neat.

But dude your top grille needs a little help. ITs like completely flat and it could be the angle but it looks like it doesnt match to the contours of the front end very well.

Meh. I wanted straight lines. ANd if i used finline tape then I know the lines would have been horrid. I did use the finline tape when doing the bottom line though. And that turned out good. But I used the 2in tape as a guidline.

And yes those are my spare *******. And blk I get more real ***** than joo! icon_smile.gif

is it just me or does your top grill seem to be falling out/or not tall enough to reach the hood?? and then on the 3rd pic the bumper looks crooked?

id black out the upper grill and then keep your dodge sign chrome on that part with the rest of the grills silver still..

THat top mesh is **** up. I am goin to get a new sheet and redo it. It is really bad I know. One of the MANY things on my list of things to do. And no the bumper is not crooked. The car may be for all I know. I have no idea what psi I was at in that pic.

As for the black top grill and bottom silver. THat is a cool idea. Anyone wanna chop that. I will have blk do it tonight or today.
