Some pics of my newly installed DRLs to my new sport sedan. I dont know if anyone has done this before.. if not then it's a pretty unique approach to the Mazda 3 custom drls..

I'll only post pics for now.. will post more info & write up later.

notice any thing different on my car?

They are a set of 4 white & orange LEDs in the fog lamp bracket..Orange LEDs are tied to the indicator & the white ones are tied to the fuse box so they come on when the ignition system is on & act as a DRL. The LEDs were bought from Oznium.com

a few more pics and installation pics..

I also painted the fog light bracket to Piano black while i was working on the holes for the leds.

I noticed it right away...looks awesome and very well done, you do great work.

I just hope a ton of people dont keep doing this mod like they have. Would like to see something unique to the Audi's...Just like how Halo lights were beaten to death after having them stolen from the BMW's.

Still a great looking mod.

not exactly streetlegal, but hella kool. i dont think the cops would bother you too much since i dont think there would be a glare issue. just like with ny other light mod, it makes you stand out

i think red wouldn't be street legal. i know nebraska has a law where you can't have red or green lights on the car. i'm not sure where he lives, but it might be the same or not.

Wow .. nice job!
And incredible to see what you have to do to get to the fog light brackets icon_smile.gif

Also good to see that you pay a lot of attention to the wires (waterproofing etc).

I tried it a while ago. They're not bright enough to be DRL's. But it looks cool at night.

I was just reading through this on the Mazda3Forums icon_smile.gif

But, I think they would be illegal because DRLs have to be at a similar height to the headlights, if I remember correctly.

Either way, looks really nice

What kind of camera do you have? Those pictures with the lights on at night came out excellent!

hi thanks for the comments. Waterproofing is very important indeed.. as we're in winter months and it rains a lot here in England icon_sad.gif

well here in england the only legal colours at the front of the car are white, yellow & amber. And these LEDs are white and in pairs working together with the ignition system which are exactly as set out by the DOT office here icon_smile.gif

Nice job!

I've had my fog grill LEDs since early this year, and also been running with the headlamp LED mod (a la Audi TT-S) for almost 2 months now, and no issues either on it's performance, nor any issues with law-enforcement.
pic below shows both LEDs on, but i added switches so that i only have one set on, not both- otherwise it's overkill! User posted image

sickly clean install and application. I applaud thee and may have to initiate my own led mod when I get my new headlights.
