My little Lanai / balcony at the condo I'm at right now.

Even better, it's hooked up to a Remote Strobe & Dimmer unit with an amazing coverage range.

Light source is our Flexible LED Waterproof Ribbon Strips

They're mounted seamlessly to the pole of the balcony, so you can't see it, regardless of what degree you're standing / sitting at below. Any other mounting possibilities would've given visible glow source at some angle... This = No dice for me, so mounted them on the railing.

I would give you major props if you put a million color strips on every balcony and then did patterns on the whole building

Thanks! The Waterproof LED Ribbon comes out to around 6,500 - 6,750 K on average. Very crisp almost overcast / daytime effect. YouTube Video still processing.

That is really a cool project, neat part is it won't really annoy neighbors or anything, but will still be very visible from the street. Boston University has some high rise student housing and some rooms do stuff like this in their windows. The high rise is right next to a highway so at night you see some cool lighting.

Thats what I said! Get the neighbors to do it. Or just climb over to the other balconies and do it at 3 am while they are asleep.

As a certified "clueless old fogie" {48}, my first thought was:
Vertical motion sensor in mattress to which porch light is slaved. Lady friend visitor(s) would think you're so good you turn night into day" in the manner of H.G. Well's The Time Machine.
{The book, not the movies which bore zero resemblance to the former.}

Depending on how strong your major muscle groups are, and your state of cardio/pulmonary conditioning, you could coordinate your "activity" to tunes cranking on the stereo. Marathon runner? 'Old Time Rock & Roll' by Bob Seger. Merely moderately athletic? Syncopated to 'Night Moves' by Bob Seger.

Beats the hell out of putting a necktie on the outside of your door knob to keep buddies from coming a knocking.
