VERY cool, sir ! icon_biggrin.gif Love the colors on both setups .

Are the tabletop lanterns originally incandescent lamps that you added the LEDs to ? And how are the LEDs' colors selected ? They look like those strings of addressable lights .

And more details about the mirror lights ! Are they the same LED sources ?

Yes indeed they are. I didn't want the display to look completely out of place when it was on the wall. So when it is off, it just looks like a mirror, but when it is on the colors show through.

The table top dealies are ikea accent lights that came with a socket for an incandescent bulb. The piece of PVC sticking up the middle is held by that socket and the top is holding a white MR bulb. It provides some accent up lighting if your desire is to only have a little, but the overall effect didn't turn out the way I wanted.

And you are correct, the strings are the 50 node DMX addressable lights. They are on a power data supply that only does the rainbow pattern. Which is good enough for these. The same style strings are in the mirror, except the mirror strings have 1" spacing. The mirror runs off a ethernet based power data supply. Meaning when I finish the programming, it will be able to scroll the time, weather, stocks, any RSS feeds on a live update basis.

i really like the 2way mirror. Did you have the glass cut or did you find one thee correct size to start? I was thinking about doing something like this for my amp rack as both a security feature and a lighting factor.

I had it cut. I could only find it in 1/4" thicknesses, which was fine by me. Also you can still see behind it if your angle and the lighting is right, but for the most part it is a mirror.

Yeah, I've never said their stuff was cheap, although you could get the same effect for a LOT cheaper.

Working for them was amazing and picking through their electronics waste was pretty fun. icon_biggrin.gif
