Is it something that is super hard? No. Have I ever seen it before? No. Do they look damn pimp? Yes.

I have not cleaned these up yet, nor have I actually put the lens back on yet. But that will come soon. You can see where I chipped a piece of the lens off. I will be cleaning that up and then finding a way to hide that. Trust me I will figure something out.

The vid sucks. But oh well. I will take a nice one when I get them on the car in a couple weeks probably(car is in storage and we had a huge snow storm today so not worth going there) The two "outside" strips are red. And two inside ones are orange. In the vid you can't really tell. But in person they are very noticeable. Obviously the red will be brake lights and orange turn signals. As you can see my tails are tinted so I have had people complaining they can't see my lights. Well I can promise they will now! lol This will go well with my 3rd brake light which uses the same strips I used here. 4 of them in fact lol.

My plan is to find a way where I can take apart a stock bulb and use the plug so I can wire these up to a stock plug so if I ever sell these it is plug and play.

Let me know what you think!

Just the regular flex strips. I used the 19in strips and then cut off any access leds. Like said above I used 4 9.5in strips in my 3rd brake light. So these will match them perfectly.

Lol. Indeed. Thank you. My favorite tails are still the new bmw 5 series.

These are factory. I am sure you have seen them on the road.

First you have to take the lenses off. Good luck! I broke off 3 pieces between the 2 tails. Way hard to do with the way the lenses are on there.

Then I just bought the leds and taped them in there. I will be using some zipties to make sure they stay. But I don't see that being a problem. My only problem now is I have no reverse light. I might be taking the red lense out of the center part and putting while leds in there for reverse lights. Not sure what I want to do yet.

When you do get the lense off this is what they will look like. And as you can see the leds. I used body side molding tape as it is stupid strong.

cool...thanks korn...I would take out the red lens where the brake light was but you will have to leave the red reflector to be legal won't you....then just get a very bright white LED bulb and put it in where the brake light was....just an idea...

That is what I was thinking.

1. I am not worried about it by a law standpoint. I have a bazillion illegal things done to this car. They will hit me with alot more things before they hit me for that.
2. I actually taped the leds to part of that red lense on parts. Dumb me didn't think about that before I did it. And I am not about to redo it.

I will figure something out. Maby put white leds on the end where the leds make the curve. But behind the strips so you don't see the actual led just the white glow. Tis probably what I will do.

Those LED strips wont be bright enough for back up lights. Take fog lights and mount them just above the bottom of your rear bumper, and when you need to reverse air up in the back and down in the front. Plenty bright and hidden would work for me.

Looks cool so far. I assume you have a resistor or something planned for running lights.

Oh, and I'd use some silicone to keep the strips in place rather than zip ties. Don't have to drill more holes that way.

I am going to see what the car wire does to it first. If there is already an inline resistor or something. Once I get the car here I will figure that out. But I am sure I will and I know people have done led mods like this to neons so it won't be hard to figure out.

And ya. Maby I will do that. Forgot how strong the silicone actually is.

For reverse I mean if they have to be bright would there be way to possibly remove said red lens and work in like a white flood? It wouldn't be seen because they are tinted.

And I am pretty sure that might be bright enough...just trying to think and stay on the LED look.

Looks good. Those LED strips make for awesome tail lights.

regarding plug-and play: autolumination.com makes "empty base" 3157 bulb sockets. You can solder a little wire lead then seal it up with epoxy, hot glue or other stuff.

Well I mean what happens when environmental changes such as heat or cold cause a cold solder joint to act up and maybe a section of 3 LEDs goes out. I've seen it happen in headlights where people put the strips inside, although maybe it will be fine in the tails.

Oznium offers a 1-year warranty. We will send a replacement if it is a defective strip.

I'd be most worried about them not being bright enough in sunlight in the summer. I guess you could always add 2 more red strips on the outside of the current red strips, if that becomes the case.

100,000 hours in a lab with a controlled temperature and power. There are a LOT of things that can degrade the life of an LED rather quickly. Heat, overpowering, and other extremes of use just to name a few.

Look at the street lights and cross walk signs that have LED's that are out. The vast majority of those have driver issues that cause an overpowering state to the LED's greatly diminishing their life.

Thanks all!

And I hope none burn out. Just praying I get lucky.

And I bet these will. With teh leds being directly at you you will see the actual led and not just the glow. I had this problem with my small little bulb. And that is why I did this. This is def WAY brighter and WAY more visible. We will see though. My thrid brake light is 4 9.5 strips in a clear housing so people see those like crazy too when I am braking.

I guess I'm gonna have to say that I don't really like the mod. I just don't care for the shape/look of the lights.

I will have to give you some credit for taking the time to make them look good. Maybe I'll change my mind once they are on the car.

Installed vid! They look AWESOME! Way better in person. Haven't decided if I want to do a little bit brighter parking lights or not. A simple resistor swap can make that happen if I decide though.

I like the taillights kornhomo, so they are tinted right?

I wasn't sure about how they looked in the taillights, but installed on the car I really like how you laid them out.

It was not a serious question Einstein.

I have the feeling that you are one of those guys who is amazed by shiny objects like spoons and new nickels. I will explain my last post, The question about you having a vasectomy was a joke, that you a so stupid the court ordered you to not reproduce. Get it? Or should we post some more ridiculous photochops to fool you?
