Has anyone compared 55 watt HID kits to 35 watt kits?
I have a 35 watt 6000k kit in my lows and was wondering if a 8000k 55 watt kit (higher color temp due to the color down shift you get with a higher wattage kit) would produce anymore light.
I'm getting a 6000k kit for my fogs, and thought I should upgrade everything at once while I have the front fascia off.

NOTE: This isn't a conversation about the color of my fogs, I'm going for style necessarily output.

I know my 55w 10,000k are a smidgen brighter than 35w 8,000k's.

Very much so.
With proper housings Id be even more in love with them.

Anything after 6000K you start to see a dramatic drop off in useable lumens. You would probably get the sam amount of useful output from a 55w 8000K kit as you would a 35w 6000K kit.

35w 6000k headlight and fogs. No need to get 55w and possibly turn the housing yellow OR melt it

I have a feeling my fogs will be brighter than my headlights. Before I put in my 35 watt kit the projectors (in the low beams) looked hazy.... I was reading somewhere that some can look like that, but idk what the previous owner did to the car either.

An HID projector swap would make a much bigger difference than trying to get useful output on anything you currently have.

I have thought about doing a complete retrofit with actual HID projectors, but then the cost comes into it.

HIDs will not work in halogen housings. You pretty much either have to buy headlights that already have projectors in them or retrofit your own. icon_confused.gif
