Hi everybody! Newbie here! icon_biggrin.gif
I have a 2001 Volvo C70 Convertible. I saw these neat blue headlamps for it so I bought a set. Problem is, They are dim. Now come to find they sell conversion kits for them.
Do I need a conversion kit for these lights to work properly? And should I keep them blue while my highbeams are white? Or should I get blue highbeams too?
Thanks Ya'll!!!

Yes. Except the tip on mine is blue not silver, but the filament inside looks different. It has a tiny coil in it.

Those are Painted Halogens. Which produce LESS light than stock halogens.

This is a H7 HID bulb

HID's also come with Ballasts to power the bulbs.

Here is a good website to buy HID's from. Many of us here use them

Select what wattage, size, and What 'K' you want.

Thank you so much. I am going to try to get my money back. But I really don't expect to unless I sue him after an accident. Which I don't intend to let happen. I guess I'll just switch back to the reg whites until I can research some more. Gonna go check out that site. THANKS AGAIN!!! silly.gif BYE!!

If it doesn't come with a ballast then it's not a HID light. A lot of people will advertise bulbs like you bought as having HID like color, but it's not a HID at all. Tdawg pretty much told you everything you need to know

Listen up RED....

I never said I loved you. So how can you love me too?

If Jesus really loved you, he would have not let you go down the path of cheap lights and brimstone, but would have shown you the HID LIGHT... Let the light shine on you and and the roads of all your travels on GOD's GREEN EARTH!!

Praise the LORD!!!

On a headlight-related note, i HIGHLY suggest you put your stock bulbs back in. The "tinted bulbs" will reduce your output making it dangerous to drive at night.

Did a little research. Unless Red only read the title she has nothing to be complaining about. I googled the watermark on the photo and pulled up the guy Ebay rating, he sells bulbs and has a great rating.

Read the item description more instead of the bible Red.

The bible gives me better pointers on more complex issues icon_cool.gif Anyway, I did read everything there before I purchased it. I guess I am just not that smart. icon_rolleyes.gif There was alot of stuff written up there. And even reviewing it again (thanks Moss)I don't see the word halogen light, but the word HID appears again in the description as well as in the title. This is the reason I thought they were HID. And the reason I came here to to find out if I need a kit or not. But I realize in the description it says I do not. It still isn't clear enough to me. puppy_dog_eyes.gif There is so much technical stuff. I mean blue ion, Newest Generation, Xenon WHAT!? The only thing I know about generation are the beanie babies I have in my closet from 1994. I think I'll stick to the King James Bible. Even in its antique writing it is still easier to understand than that! BROTHER. Anyway all this technical stuff is why I have you guys for! biglaugh.gif Again THANKS!!!

Oh one more thing. I didn't see this comment earlier. The seller has SO MANY great comments that I stopped there and bought them. But, Another buyer did in fact go to ebay about the exact same issue. And won. He told Ebay he was sold halogen lights and not HID like advertised. In the comment section the seller tried to defend himself but the buyer replied that Ebay agreed with him. The only odd thing about that is ebay continues to allow this seller to sell them that way.
GOD BLESS YA'LL......Gotto go. Taking the kids to c icon_razz.gif hurch for a PJ party. See ya later!!!!

Hey! If you're making fun of me and the the fact that I'm a Bible Thumper..... thats OK! icon_wink.gif I'm not that bright to see it. (Neither are my new HID lights!!LOL) I just love the attention!!!LOL biglaugh.gif

If I didn't know any better, after reading the description I would of thought they were true HIDs too.

Only the thing about taking 5 minutes to install. HIDs take a bit more, with having to mount the ballests somewhere. Still, file a complaint. See if you can get your money back. I agree with you, it's ****. They need to clearly define that these are 100% Halogen lights and NOT HIDs bulbs and ballests. These eBay sellers are almost criminals, preying on the uneducated and selling an inferior product.

Your best bet would be to pick up some Silverstars or some PIAA bulbs. They won't be blue like HIDs are and if you want that blue you're going to have to buy a set of HIDs.

biglaugh.gif This is a good selling point to give your customers up front . So I guess it means I won't get the box in the mail and find that they sent me a color picture of light bulbs instead, or a handful of brazil nuts ?
