Aken had it on his ride, the flip pattern with the music interface?

Requires the Music interface and relay? I had the diagram but lost it. I searched for awhile Phil had a How-To page that's disappeared, Aken's videos and what not are no longer up. All I could find was a tiny version of my old diagram not even sure if it's the right wiring....

Anyone got the diagram still?

I have a set up in my car I'm running two colors off of a relay using the music interface I have red running off the N/C connector and white off the N/O and feed the common with voltage , the music interface pulls in/out the relay and causes them to alternate

87= Color 1
87A= Color 2
30 = 12+
85 = Ground
86 = Music MI?

Does that make sense?

Yup that makes sense. Where 86 is the output from the Music interface and 30 is you main power input.

I feel a taste of old school awesomeness.

I just almost died out in my pick up... I've been working on the mystery plug which I now know is some sort of alarm unit...

I laid down on my back across the floor head under the steering wheel, feet out the passenger side door... Managed to wiggle into a spot I could not get out.

Think I need to lay of the carbs a week before I install don't want to get trapped again.

I owe one of these to Mark (aka Daytona). I should probably just ship him my prototype since I'll never use it icon_redface.gif

Got it up and running. Sadly I can not find my Music Interface, I rigged it up with a switch, just to make sure I had it right. Works like a charm.

Red Cathodes are definitely not as bright as I recall them being.

When they blink, they're not as grand as when they're fully heated up and on consistently, I remember that.

I'm having trouble with this setup now?

I have Optx music interface.

When I hook up the Ground to the music interface and the 12+ to a constant power source it seems the ground is switching to turn off just a single neon light.

Obviously this would change the whole layout of the relay.

Any thoughts?

I have done about 50 different "Google" searches with no results. Aken what did your Optx controller look like?

Mine has a On/Off, Music / Lite, and Sensitivity knob. It's old looking compared to past models I have had.

I can't wrap my head around this. cerwin.gif cerwin.gif cerwin.gif cerwin.gif cerwin.gif cerwin.gif cerwin.gif cerwin.gif cerwin.gif cerwin.gif cerwin.gif cerwin.gif cussing.gif cussing.gif cussing.gif cussing.gif cussing.gif cussing.gif

No luck, I need to find a music interface that switches the positive.

You can negative switch a relay. 86 pin = ground switched coming from interface. 85 pin = constant 12v+.

You can negative switch a relay.

86 pin = ground switched coming from interface.
85 pin = constant 12v+
30 pin = Ground
87 pin = Channel one ground wire
87A pin = Channel two ground wire

Amazing it works.

Thanks Aken, Chris, Bad Venge and Corvette

I know mine would not work with the 30 pin as a 12V+.

Eh. That was the diagram. Been a few years ago, but I got my system working using that plan.

Most likely a change in the music interface manufacturing.

Are you using a 30amp Bosche style relay ?
If so Try a lighter duty one not as heavy of a current draw might work

I seem to recall discovering that my StreetGlow music interface controlled the NEGATIVE, and that the positive was constant.

The grounds from my neons connect to my relay channels.

86 pin = ground switched coming from interface.
85 pin = constant 12v+
30 pin = Ground
87 pin = Channel one ground wire
87A pin = Channel two ground wire

You should be able to switch the 30, 87 and 87a to all use positive instead of negative. It's just acting like a switch. But it still works your way, so it doesn't really matter.
