Please, can anyone help me find a simple fix to the horrible lighting provided by the oem reverse lights on my 2008 Scion tc? I can't see anything while trying to backup in the dark.

Looks like your Scion has the same 18 watt 921 bulbs that are on my Honda Element, those bulbs used in reverse lights are a joke. You can modify some 38 watt 894 fog light bulbs to fit in the factory sockets. I did that mod to my reverse lights about four years ago and they still work great and the difference in brightness is quite noticeable.

They are 921's. I have tried the silver star 921's and led's and neither of these help.

Did you modify the bulb to fit into the existing 921 socket? How difficult is this to do?

Yes and it wasn't very difficult to do.

Here's how you accomplish that mod.

^^Not mine, but that's where I learned how to do that mod.

Don't know if you're still dealing with this, but VLeds.com just came out with a reverse light (plug & play) that is super bright. A little expensive, but probably less than your deductable if you back into something
