TRogers have fun.

I have worked for about a month at my new job and it has already been interesting. Today we had a fight between 2 of the line workers over one of them sitting for just a few minutes. It was crazy and I did not even get to see it. I heard about it all afternoon from everyone I work around. Made for an interesting day.

so i was at one of the little harley gatherings... wow. I need to really get into motorcycle LED business. 2 8 inch strips any color. $299.

..are...you...****...kidding....me.....

and they didn't know anything about the strips as in what led it used if it was epoxy (it was but they didn't know) and how high of a heat resistance they have. lemme tell ya... i'm really thinking about making a bunch of kits for Harley's and sportbikes... just to see how well I could do.

Well my truck took a dump today. It was really funny actually. This morning I started out with a wheel bearing going out in my car. So I drove the truck to work. Everything was fine until I went to lunch. After picking up some oil and then getting lunch my truck decided to die on me. I was stopped in a median and had no one around me. The motor finally seized up on me (I have known that it was going to happen at some point, but did not expect it to do so the same day as my car going down.). It will not turn over or anything. So I had the truck towed home and it is now lawn art in my back yard until March or so when I have the money saved up for a new motor.

I have had an awesome day. How about yours?

ouch dusty. sorry.

for myself i finished my small project on the car.. way better than what i though. pics soon don't ask.

Uhm... helped a friend out with his bike and wiring a few things for him. then another friends audio system was doing weird stuff. I seen the negative terminal on his second battery was loose and i went to tighten it not realizing it was incredibly hot. Burnt my middle fingerprint and thumb print. Burnt his battery cover that was hovering the negative terminal. and the terminal got warm from sparks shooting from lack of consistent current.

anyways i was suppose to go up north tonight away from internet and cell service... but got distracted and was told the restaurant i wanted to go to (only reason i was going up tonight) to a great restaurant that i've gone to for years was not open tonight. so i wait until tomorrow. icon_smile.gif might get ice cream with a friend in a few. waiting for her to get out of class.

I've been progressing on the box for the 240s stereo. So far its 3 cubic feet, 2187w rms, 1 15" sub, and 2 10" subs. Fiberglassing the inside and putting a 1" plexi window on the back, and lighting that ***** up.

Ordered a bunch of RC parts for a 1 off Scale RC Truck my buddy and I are building. Will hopefully sell them for around 800-1200 bucks a piece.

aken HATES the idea. for AKEN:

I have them powered to my ignition so they're on with the car. however i have them relayed to my headlights where when the headlights turn on (because it's night time and you have to drive with them on) the LEDs shut off.

I do - go figure - have a switch inline with the negative wire for the relay overriding whether or not it works with or without the headlights.

I've used it way up north in the middle of no where where i need the extra light for deer.

Light output is quite blinding. Aken is absolutely correct with is first four words.
Aken wrote:

they are bright and how i have them mounted SO far in the back of the bumper and with me limiting the visibility they work just as fog lights without the distance of an actual light bulb and it's spot like angle. I'll tell ya though... holy hell is it bright icon_smile.gif

when i'm not on vaca i'll post everything up. for now i'm going to go read a book and enjoy the sounds of nature. icon_smile.gif

As long as you don't have them on when you're near cars (like having your brights on), it's fine. Use as an accessory light, not as a driving light.

WS2812b is the only clue.

Very close yes. the WS2812b is a 5050 LED package with RGB dies and a built in micro controller. It allows you to control each LED package individually. There are lots of LED strips and other products made from this.

However, my reel of 1000 LED's showed up today. I ordered 4 meters of the LED strips just for the hell of it also.

Not really.

That's like saying it is a big clue that your next project is going to have a car wheel on it. Yet car wheels are used for a very wide variety of things, from cars to hose reels to ski lift parts. icon_razz.gif

Does someone on here work for Phillips outside the Boston area right on 95? I drive by there occasionally and for an office building they have some WILD led lighting up their floor, very brightly. I could be mistaken but I thought it was a member on here?

Paul Walker was on a great show "Shark Men" about tracking great white sharks. They would actually hook the shark, land it on a special deck off the side of a boat, lift it out of the water, tag it and release the shark. Paul Walker was just a deckhand, but it was cool to see the scientists in action and the techniques they used to land the big sharks.

Actually thought about putting a new HU in my truck today. I bought a new Iphone, had non music playing phones before, so now I got all my tunes with me. I want something I can plug my Iphone directly into, went onto Crutchfield to shop around and can get what I want for under $120 with install kit. Not sure if I'm going to do it, the headphone jack to tape cassette works good enough. icon_redface.gif

Unless you get used or something extremely cheap, I'm not sure... the least expensive good install kits and wire harnesses will alone cost about $30-90 depending on vehicle (GM is an $80 harness). Then the radio. You can get a few for $100 or super entry level for maybe $85-90 on sale.

The ****? Usually the harness that goes from the factory to the aftermarket harness is FREE with new headunits. Unless someone butchered your factory wiring and cut the plugs off. I could see how that might be expensive to fix.

check these deals out. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_i429_car-stereos-with-bluetooth.html The first headunit is $109.99 with free shipping and $30 in free accessories, which means free mounting kit (specific to your vehicle) and free wiring harness (specifically for your vehicle) and usually either really cheap or free antennae adapter (if you even need it).

It has bluetooth, rear USB, front USB, works with Ipods+Iphones and Androids, works with Pandora. Its a good cheap entry level Headunit, that wont break your bank.

I'm sure there are cars out there that require expensive harnesses, but my truck requires one of the less expensive plug types, Crutchfield offered it for free, with purchase of their head units.

Thanks for all the advice, I was actually looking at a Pioneer model.

I have had the flu for about a week, working on building a new center console for my truck, got some of my Christmas lights up, and y'all smell like cheese.

That is all.

Nope. I have actually put out less lights this year. I know I am surprised too.

Anybody do any Christmas Swaps this year? The group I did it with had 10 people, draw a number out of a hat, pick in that order, you can "swap" with any person who has already opened a gift before you. The person who draws number 1 gets to pick from all the opened gifts.

I brought Yak tracks, they are basically spikes you put on your boots to walk on ice. I drew the number 9, there was 2 unopened gifts left, one of the unopened gifts I had left was the Yak Tracks, I picked the other gift, it was a $25 gift card. The person who picked 10th, opened up my Yak Tracks, I convinced her to swap with me, because the gift card was great. Secretly, I knew the only person left (#1) with a pick wanted the card and he had a waffle maker that I did not want. So I got what I brought back and avoided a possible trade for a waffle maker.

I was talking to co-workers and they said they have never heard of such swaps, I thought they were pretty popular there was a whole episode of "The Office" based on a swap.
