Over the past few months I have received several complaints from customers upset about a derogatory comment posted on this site over 2 years ago. I am all for free speech but requested from Phil the owner a phone call to see if he would consider just changing the title of the topic as a professional courtesy. After about 6 months of phone calls and 2 emails I received no response. Today I called and requested that he call me back and again explained why I was calling. I called back when my call was not returned and was told that Phil the Owner would not change anything and that he was fully aware of the reason I was calling. So that brings me to this post. As I said earlier I am all for free speech, I am not asking for the post to be removed just the title changed so when people search for my site a vulgar word does not pop up. They can still have my companies name I would just like the vulgar word removed. I do not think this is much to ask especially since the post is over 2 years old. I am also surprised that the company owner would refuse to call be back or get on the phone. I know at my company anyone can ask to speak with the owner and I get right on the phone or I call them back immediately.

I thank all of you who came to our defense in the post and appreciate your time.

While I have people's attention if you are looking for a great deal on Strobe Lights or LEDs visit www.Strobesnmore.com and I will beat any price on Oznium by 10% and ship it for free. This is just my way of saying sorry for bothering you the regular forum users with my little post. Just put the word Oznium in the special instructions box when placing and order.

Thanks and be safe.

Wow... I guarantee you just lost every ounce of business that was generated out of this place.
So what if he said something, it's the internet, it's free speech, and it's a public forum!
I will never do business with a company that the owner comes to another business just to trash and bad talk when this is something that should be handled via email.
Way to lose my business and everyone I run into.

I think your coming at it the wrong way.

You say that people can contact you know problem, but you blew up at the person for asking for a tracking number. You refunded his money and cursed.

I think that says a lot about your company.

I don't know what that last post is all about but I am not trashing Phil or his company. I tried to handle it via Email but Phil did not have time to respond to either of them or the 6 phone calls that were made over a 6 month period. I realize that this is a bit much but he left me with little other options. Not one phone call was ever returned, not one...

Oh wow, I just remembered what thread you're so mad about. It's your fault for having poor customer service.

Nobody that has experienced Oznium's great prices and customer service would even think twice about shopping at another place. A man is allowed to speak his mind.

We don't post nonsense in your boards/store/whatever you have. I'm not giving you a hit on your site by looking.

Bye.

Hey Louis, I distinctly remember replying to your email sometime late last year. If you didn't get my reply, I am sorry. Maybe a spam filter blocked it, either way I'm sorry you didn't get it.

The policy is simple, in the user's best interest I want the Oznium Forums to remain objective. I don't want to censor material.

People are free to post negative things about Oznium. The same guy (pOrk) that posted this this topic just recently posted a topic calling Oznium out for "False advertising on Oznium?"

Someone recently posted a link ( ledunderbody.com - anyone familiar with this site?) to a competitor. Instead of removing it, I actually encouraged them to buy from them and let the community know how the product is.

Your 10% promo is a pretty good deal and I also encourage people to use it. Oznium hardly makes any money selling the Whelen strobes especially since someone recently scammed me out of $800 worth.

Anyways, to clarify. The policy is we do not censor things. Information should be readily available, whether good, bad, or neutral to everyone. Isn't that what makes the internet great?

Ok he just called, I picked up and spoke with him. Seems like a nice guy, and wants the topic title changed to something more mild like "I dislike Strobesnmore.com". I said I'd ask moderators and forum members to see what they suggest. So, what do you people suggest? Changing it probably isn't a big deal.

2 Kudos points to Phil for acting in a professional manner here.

I'll be honest, I looked at your site. Then again, Ive been looking in to wig-wags for a while now.

EDIT for Phils post;

I dislike Strobesnmore.com is not getting the point across.

Im still neutral.

Phil is right I did just speak with him and he was very polite and agreed to take another look at my request. My only issue is with the F**k word that is it. If you do not like us then so be it. I would love to try to make everyone happy but as I am sure Phil will attest I is not always easy. I just don't agree with vulgar words being used. Phil seems to have a great site and some loyal fans and I applaud him. I even told him I would be more than happy to get work with him anyway I can outside of this issue. Thanks to everyone for thier input and have a good night.

I understand what strobesnmore is saying about this. It is his fault for treating a customer horribly and whether the title gets changed should be up to Phil. Maybe "Screw strobesnmore.com" would be a less vulgar way of putting it.

I disagree with changing it. Changing the title would reset it in the search logs of google and such. making this thread fall deep into the obis of the internet.

This is a wonderful thread.

As Phil pointed out - he allowed a thread regarding false advertising from him to remain in this forum. Now, granted it didn't say "F*CK YOU Oznium.com", it was a bash towards him, his company, on his OWN message board. Now, if he allows that, and accepts that, than you CERTAINLY should be able to accept having a bad post regarding your store on a totally different website than your own.

And with your regards to searching about the company, and finding a vulgar word - I JUST did a search on google. If I search for Strobesnmore.com (as per the title of this thread), Oznium does not pop up on the first page, nor the second page, for that matter. I didn't bother doing any searching past that, because it wasn't worth it. I even added the "F*ck" to the search, and NOTHING came up. except for one link that google put as "F...ck", which was nothing related to you.

So, you have zero to worry about regarding someone searching for strobesnmore.com and getting a vulgar word. So, get that out of your mind. And because of that, there is NO reason for anybody to have to change the title of this thread. Phil, I vote NO to changing the title of this thread. As per the reasons I have given, it does not come up in a simple google request. Adding to that fact, it is simply a disgruntled customer, posting his ranting. It's a message board, and its the way it works.

And on top of that - What the HELL, Strobesnmore? You come on here, wanting us to give you a better word, and then you go about and try to undercut Phil to sell MORE of your items? WHAT THE (and to use an appropriate word..) ****?! I understand, if you were to come on here, apologize, and then sell something ELSE that Phil doesn't sell, at 10% off, because you were sorry. But, to come in here, try to clear your company name, and THEN try to undermine that in which you are trying to appologize to?

NO GODDAMN WAY!!!!

Take your stuff. Take your "Strobesnmore". And get the HELL out of here. This thread stays, the title of the thread stays, and you go. Go, go, go. You've **** it up once. Two years later, and you're still **** it up. Nobody should buy anything from you, and you have proven it. I don't care if you talk nice on the phone. Your business practice is CRAP, and you should learn to run one appropriately, and curteously.

Phil runs his business right. He takes suggestions and acts on those given from other people, and his customers. But you, you seem to be running this business of where the business is almost right. However, that's not the way life works.

Grow up. And go away. Well, perhaps go away first, and then grow up, because I think it may take awhile before you grow up. And DON'T even think about telling me that I don't know how to run a business. Because I HAVE my own business, and my customers, and other businesses respect me because of it. It may not be as big as Phils, but it is a business, I do it RIGHT, and fellow competitive businesses get along with me, and I don't stick my nose in their business if one of their customers has a beef with me.

Id say no to the change as well....Im a business owner myself, 3 actually, and would never attempt to settle a dispute with an individual (customer) or competing business in such a public manner....These types of things are most certainly better handled off the radar, and the best course of action is always to go back to the beginning and attempt to correct the mistake made on behalf of your business..

Good Day.

10% isn't enough of a discount to sell away the good customer service I've received here. If you want your name disassociated with a "bad word" on web crawler searches, might I recommend making this customer whole for his broken item? p0rk can be a bit of a hothead sometimes, but I believe him if he says that he tried to get a replacement and had no luck. Bottom line - Oznium HAS spoiled me and a lot of other customers and I find it TACKY that you'd try to undercut him with a token 10% discount. No class...

i don't care if Oznium was 30% more, I buy here for a reason, not because i'm an Oznium fan boy, but because the customer service is on par, and the general attitude of this company is what agree's with the neurons in my brain that tell me to pull out my wallet.

Consider pleasing every customer you can, probably the few you have at this point, and then when you earn your reputation as a good seller, and good person to deal with, threads like this one bashing your company wont pop up randomly on the internet.

Don't change the title. If a company does not back up its products then i think everyone should know about it.

edit: type strobesnmore into google and this thread is now the fourth result.

you didnt want anyone to see this and by bringing this thread back to life now you have made it so everyone will see it icon_cool.gif

If someone was searching for the company name: Strobesnmore, they would automatically put it in the address bar.

If I were to search for Strobes on a search engine, I wouldn't type Strobes and more. And try to create something there.
Just like if I'm looking for HIDs, I don't type in the address bar: HIDSnmore. Unless I knew that there was a website called that, then I wouldn't even need to search it.

See my point? sleeping.gif

i disagree with the title change, however i think that even though this is the oznium forum i think that people on here really dont represent phil very well at times when situations like this occcur. it would appear that phil is doing well reasoning through this however everyone seems to jump on the oznium bandwagon. aside from pork who else has had poor service from this person? i dont think its right for everyone on here to say **** you to someone who is just trying to settle a business issue. like it has been stated, its america the **** title should stay, but telling the dude to **** off and get out of the forum is being a bit hipacritical on some accounts. point being, you sound like a **** retard when you repeat everyone above you by saying "ur fuxorin retarded@@!!!!gomgomgom" at least add a bit of definition to your post or if you choose to bash the company at least bring up information from the site.

People are getting away from the facts so let me spell it out.

1. I tried to contact Phil 2 times via email and 6 times via phone over teh last 6 months.
2. I was told by Max that Phil did not care about my issue and that he would not get back to me. It was made very clear that I would post my own topic and i was told to go ahead.
3. I made a post titled "F*uck Oznium"
4. Phil who states he's all for free speech removed the post and merged it with this one so that title would not be seen. Yes thats right it was removed...
4. I finally called again and personally spoke with Phil, who I might add was very nice.
5. All I ever requested was the "F" word removed and nothing more.
6. Obviously people have seen it or I would not have said anything as the post is over 2 years old.

The bottom line is that if this site truely beleives in free speech and that is the issue where is the "F*uck Oznium" topic that I started? Its gone because the issue is not about free speech it's about bashing another site. If it wasn't then Phil could have changed the title and no one would have ever known as the topic was over 2 years old.
