So guys [and gals], heres a question.

I will be puting el wire in my car, numerous areas I believe, and had a few questions.

How do you mount it? haha, I hate asking things like this because it makes me look like a fool.

I want to put it in the seams of my seats as well. Ive heard fishing line, but how did you get it tight. Take off the fabric?

The second question was for neon mike as I noticed he did that.

Thanks all!

Use silicone as this won't leave any marks on your dash or seats. As for the seats take the seat covers off. Us dokota guys can take the fabric off. I don't know if you can or not. Then sew it to it. Hope this helps.

you don't have to take the covers off... just get a hooked needle and use some fishing string.

Well if you don't have a hooked needle then you will have to take them off. icon_lol.gif

Silicone works, eh? Ill have to try this.

My dad suggested the hooked needle as well. Now the search to find one begins.

Tape off the el-wire in sections and use a little bit of silicone. When you pull it off it won't leave a crappy residue. You won't be able to tell you had elwire at all.

dont use krazy glue. it leaves a white residue when it dries and it does damage when you remove it.

I have never even seen any el wire in person, My question is...how is it powered? Like does it all need to be ran together, no breaking points?

it usually comes in 5 or 10 ft legnths and connects to a inverter. it actually runs off 120 vac and will run from your house outlet tho not as bright.

I had the EL WIRE in my truck for a while...stuff looks great at night...but horrible during the day if its not in a spot where its concealed.
