Scion tC Full Third Brake Light - OEM Quality Replacement - Customer Questions

Frequently Asked Questions by Oznium Customers

Has any consideration been given to provide a similar third brake light for the Ford Fusion (10, 11, 12? - by Otto (Redondo Beach, CA)
Sorry, we have never considered it.
When will the regular be in stock? It has been saying within 24hrs for a few days - by John
Any day.
Why isn't the light smoked color carried anymore? Are you planning to have it?
Its only cost effective to produce a batch of at least 300 pieces at a time.
Since this model of tC is aging and becoming less popular, sales of all tC Full Third Brake Lights have been slowly declining over the years.
It would take us a very long time to sell another 300 pieces of Light Smoked.
Since we have plenty of the other colors (Regular, Red, and Dark Smoked) in stock, and Light Smoked is quite similar to Regular, we've decided its not worth it to make more Light Smoked.
We figure most people who'd want Light Smoked will also be able to use Regular.
If you absolutely want Light Smoked, you can always buy the Regular and use spray paint tint, or a tint film on it.
Why are the tinted ones cheaper then the regular one? - by Travis (United States)
Because they are in stock.
Could you add some more detailed written instructions for your customers who can read? It should include a warning about the fragility of the top flange of the lower (black) molding, just under where the top (gray) molding overlaps. Take of the gray molding first, then use a pry to remove the black plastic clip, then remove the rest of the black molding. - by Greg (Moorestown, NJ)
Thank, appreciate the input.
My stock LED went out and it cost $416 to re-install new ones. Is there an instruction manual that covers how to install them? - by Michael (Bergenfield NJ)

What kind of LEDs are you putting in the third brake light? - by ben (DFW)
Superflux LEDs. Basically the same as what is already in there.
I have a silver 2007 Scion tc. Will the new light assembly have this color silver on metal - by Harold (Belmont NC)
The housing for these is black with the different colored light bar.
Has anything been done to improve the LED failure problems that customers keep referring to? It's nice to receive a replacement unit, no question. But people seem to be having the same problem over and over again. At some point you must stop reissuing new ones. - by Darren (Northern California)
There has been improvements, but some customers still have issues. While hundreds of others have ha no problems. We can't find a correlation between customers have problems and the many others that aren't having issues.
Could you please post up pictures of the Clear, Red, Light Smoked and Dark Smoked TBL's? I have a Flint Mica tC and I want to make sure that if I were to get Dark Smoked that it wouldn't stand out too much. Thank you! - by Ryan (Alameda, CA)

What is the tint percentage for the smoke TBL?

I was wondering how well does the red tbl match the red of the 08 taillights, i'm torn between regular and red, for my 08 tc. - by Jose (Stockton, Ca)

I am wondering when the scanning tbl should be available? I have the money for this tbl already but am waiting for the scanning one. - by André (SoCal SciKoticS)

No.
Are these full strips of OEM quality brightness? - by Oscar (Omaha, Nebraska)
Yes, it is quality brightness.
For the smoked and red are they films? Overlays? baked in the lens. wut?
The color is mixed in with the plastic.

There is no film. There is no spray tint.
What is the difference between "Regular" and "Red"? Can I assume "Regular" is clear?
Regular looks exactly like the stock third brake light, except the full thing lights up.

Red is the same color as the plastic of the stock tail lights.

Smoked looks tinted, as if you were to put a tint film or a light spray of paint over the regular.
