Tried the plastic type, using a step-bit I drilled the smallest hole possible that would allow the upper ring to slide in, then the led wouldn't fit in. Stepped up to a 1/4" hole and the LED would pop in but when I go to put the collar on underneath it doesn't lock in and the LED can just be pushed out.. Ended up having to glue the LED and holder with plastic epoxy to the plastic panel.. maybe 1/16" plastic is too thick of material for the collar to work correctly? Can't give this a great review.. only up-side I can give is, with the holder/ring it looks better then a LED just sticking out of a hole I guess.. Eitherway I used all 6 of them on my test box, your LEDs are freaking bright for sure

The chrome holders look very nice, but for them to work with the pre-wired LEDs, you'll need to glue the LED in place. If you're using regular "loose" LEDs, you won't have to glue anything.

Well worth it for the chrome version. I normally do not like the look of just an LED on the dash but with these holders they look good. The chrome gives it more of a finished installed look. I used them with some of the pre-wired LEDs for a clean install. Would be great in your dash cluster for an indicator for your race car or every day car. Great product.
