How to install LED strips?

Installing LED strips can be a little complicated if you dont know what youre doing, especially if youre looking for more customizable features, like having your LEDs turn on when your engine is on.

So, youre going to need a fuse to run from the battery if youre planning on tapping into an existing circuit, it would be fused already. Basically, if you want the lights to run with the engine, it would need to be a circuit thats hot when the car is on.

Alternatively, you can also pick up products called Add-A-Fuse (aka fuse tap), which allows you to add an extra fuse and piggy back off that power supply.

You can find several LED installation wiring diagrams here:

The fuse size depends on how much current your LEDs draw. You should use a fuse that is slightly higher than the amount of current your LEDs draw.
