Question
I have a 2003 ford mustang gt convertable,i would like to buy this scanner and mount it inside my hood like the shelby mustang shown on knight rider, will the iceland scanner work for my car and also is it water resistant.
Answer
The ICELED Scanner is a 20 inches long and 1 inch in diameter and is water resistant.
It should fit behind your grill, but its always better to measure your spaces first.
Question
You said that it can be taken out of the tube for custom fits. I'm looking for this exact thing, but shorter. Is it possible that it can be cut down in size or bent once taken out of the tube? I need something closer to about 8-10", but it would be awesome if I could use the full 20" but do a horse shoe shape. If this is not possible, how long would it take to get a few custom orders made up??... - by Nic (Mandan, ND)
Answer
Special order items can sometime take upto 2-3 months depending on development issues and shipping.
If you are looking for a horseshoe shape, take a look at the Streetglow Wheel Well kits, but they are going to be
longer than 8-10 inches. I wouldn't suggest cutting the scanner in half you may end up dealing with other issues.
I personally do not have any experience cutting the ICELED SCanner.
Question
Do you need the controller to change the colors and patterns..I just want the Knight Rider style in teh blue LED color - by Joel (Taylor, PA)
Answer
The scanner will work in a stand-alone mode, but to take advantage of its many patterns, you should use the Zap controller.
You can also sync the Scanner with an Iceled UFO underbody kit.
Question
Is the tube a complete circle or is it a D shaped. I want to mount it to something flat like my headliner. Is the back of it flat? - by Ryan (Philly)
Answer
It is a complete circle with a 1 inch diameter. The back is not flat. You could always remove the tube and build something custom.
Question
can i run the scanners under the car like other underdoby kit? - by kevin (bayou la batre, AL)
Answer
Yes, it is physically possible to put the Iceled Scanner under the car. It doesn't make much sense though since the Iceled Scanner is designed to be directly visible.

Have you considered the Iceled UFO underbody kit?
Question
Can the scanner be integrated to work with the Inferno 2? Thanks. - by Marty (Florida)
Answer
No.
Question
I want to run it in a open slot in plastic up front but right at the bottom of the car. 1. How durable that low to the road and 2. what to run amber only on the road for legal issues but turn on the scan when I am stopped. Should be legal to run amber only like the bottom light bar of a large truck you think? - by Tom (Woodland, Washington)
Answer
1) It's plenty durable for the front of your car. Just don't hit anything :)

2) You would probably be okay, however the scanner doesn't have the ability to stay a constant color without moving. A moving running light would not be recommended.
Question
can i adapt this to work in sync with the "ride tones" audio kit . To emulate a like knight rider effect ? If i buy it how can I sync it to that system? It's a simple speaker alarm type system. Do I need to buy anything else?
Answer
It is very unlikely that the ICELED scanner would be compatible to an outside system. However when used in conjunction with any of the ICELED controllers (UFO, Zen, Zap ), you can achieve a knight rider effect.
Question
Can they withstand the heat of a engine bay? - by Kevin (Pleasanton, Ca.)
Answer
Yes
Question
Is this street legal?
Answer
Not likely. Please consult your local laws or police department to find out for sure.
Question
If I just hooked two of these scanners up to a zen controller, would I still get the awesome results like shown in the videos above but just insync with a UFO underbody kit? and is there a way that I can make the scanners run with and without the UFO underbody kit on? Thank you very much for your time - by Steve (Michigan)
Answer
The scanners are not meant to work with the Zen controller. They can work stand-alone, with a Zap , or a with a UFO underbody kit.

There is a way you can make the scanners run with and without the UFO underbody kit on.
