Question
Is it possible to connect different color tubes to one tranformer. As in are these all interchangeable. I have a red four inch kit. So would I be able to disconect one of those and plug a twelve in bar in with that transformer tv the four inch red tube? - by Alex (Las Vegas, NV)
Answer
Yes
Question
I purchased (2) of the blue cold cathode kits and I've had two of the tubes go out right after the other. Upon inspection, the inner tube looks "broken" but the outer is in perfect shape--they were mounted with zip ties under the footwell. What happened? - by Jeremy (Sidney, MT)
Answer
I can't say for sure, but maybe someone accidentally kicked them.
Question
Hi. I just ordered these tubes as replacements for a battery-powered kit I bought from another company. I am thinking I will just attach these to the white wires by twisting them together and covering with electrical tape. Do I need to solder them? Have any suggestions? I am not completely inept, but somewhat inexperienced with this kind of thing. It runs off a 12v pack (8 AA batteries) with an inverter (is that the same as a transformer?). Let me know if you have any advice.
I wish I had found your company first, and that you sold complete battery-powered cathode kits for bikes. You would certainly have a market for this type of product. My bike (recumbent trike, actually) is already a head-turner (I had it powder-coated neon pink) and with the cathodes, it is even more so. I bought white cathodes and covered them with pink tape, but it is not working out, so I hope your pink tubes will work for me. - by Suzanne (California)

Answer
You can just twist them together and cover with electrical tape. It is ghetto, but it will work. It will likely come apart over time. You do not need to solder them. You can solder them if you want.
An inverter is the correct name. We just call them a transformer because it sounds better and people understand it better.
