Yes, just ground the wire. If you want it switched, run the wire to a switch then the switch to a ground. It's simple.

just out of curiousity, why would you want the movie playing in the first place while you're driving?

So you get a ticket so your passenger is entertained? tell the ungrateful little ******* to be thankful for getting a ride instead of walking. |

The odds of getting a ticket for watching a movie while driving is near impossible... I dont know the exact laws on the screens though (is it you cant have it up while in motion at all...?), and im not refering to the driver watching something, i am refering to passengers.
1) Cops are not going to look into your car as you drive by and see if you have a TV on watching a movie, or at least that is very hard to do, so they would have to pull you over for something else in the first place. 2) Even if you do get pulled over for say speeding, you can easily switch the screen back to tuner or cd mode, or even retract the screen if you are that scared. I have been pulled over numerous times for other offences and i have never once retracted my screen and not one police officer has even commented about it in any way. Just my .02 as some people would say |

exactly... thats how it is here in cali. Granted mobile video is cool, but I drive my car to and from work, thats about it. it has an aftermarket pioneer cd player with some crappy speakers... I guess I'm just getting older and more rational in my thinking... Don't get old! |

if you look at the mounting location on every STOCK ENTERTAINment screen, you will see that the screen is mounted behind the drivers field of vision. |

blazen, what about gps on the windshield? They are just as bad as tvs. Don't you have one? I have my tv on when I drive but I don't watch it. I have it where it shows all the music on the cd. tvs are like cell phones. Another way to distract you on the road.

Jesus, who cares if the driver can see the screen? It's also illegal to drive with an UB kit on and a lot of you do that too. Quit yer *****.

in CT it is illegal to have any aftermarket full motion display visible to the driver while the vehicle is in motion. Technically even aftermarket navigation systems are illegal. this includes headunits that have animated backgrounds and such. noone ever gets pulled over for it tho except a few ive seen driving with visor screens flipped down and playing movies.

the GPS unit is usually mounted below my radio and I typically don't look at it because it talks to me.
and I haven't driven with a UB kit on under my car in probably 3 years. like I said, don't get old to fast. it's not much fun. |

How old are you numa numa? I usually don't drive with my lights on either just because I don't like to draw attention. I have them on sometimes.

You can just enter the code with the remote to get into the factory service menu and turn off the parking brake feature. Just do a search on the net for it or PM me and ill give you the instructions

I thought I posted this link before, but can't find it now.
TV and Video in Motor Vehicles Just to give you fair warning. IF you do get into an accident, even if that accident is not your fault. IF it is found out that you had a video playing, you can and probably will be automatically at fault of the accident. This is happening more and more in Florida. If a witness, other driver, anybody, mentions that you have a video playing, they can check to see if the safety features have been bypassed. If they have been, yup, you're at fault.
If a cop sees a video playing, he can pull you over and write you a nice ticket. GPS is differant. Yes, it's still a video, but not like a movie. A movie can draw you into it (if it's a good one). |

theres a civic or something around here that has monitors in back of the headrests and a flipdown that goes around playing ****..it makes me laugh
Isn't there a way to use a switch that you can flip to send it into noormal mode or w/e? or you an just change it to navigation, since theres an exemption for it |
