MINIs are great... I have the Coopr S with the sport suspension and the supercharger, though. It's like a rocket-propelled go-kart. Chikz did the standard Cooper though, and they certainly can get up and go.

If I drive like a sane person about 23-25 MPG... The non-supercharged gets about 25% more range. Starting in 2007, though, the supercharger will be replaced with a turbocharger. THis is excitng, but I'd wait a few years for them to work out the bugs in the new rengine - the 2002 Cooper (the first year they made the new model) had some kinks that it took till 2004 to really work out. My '06 is the last year they made supercharged and I love it.

EDIT: "S" means "sport" yes for the the suspension, but it's also supercharged.

I went to art school and I've paid the rent taking wedding photos, but I'm not a pro, no. Once it became a business it lost a lot of the "fun" factor. I'm near Columbus.

I dunno actually - it was a Christmas gift last year. Not too much - less than $350 I'm sure with the body and a zoom EF lens. I have lots of other Canon lenses from my days shooting on film (the autofocus EOS lenses work just fine on the digital body) but I use the vanilla zoom lens that came in my kit about 90% of the time. I looked at higher-priced cameras, but the Rebel really does all I need it to.

I think this pic shows how sharp the "cheap" kit lens can be:
