Yeah... 6 megapixel on mine. My wife looked all over the web for the best price, and I think she got the previous year's model, but so what? I also think it was a "refurbish", but so long as the camera still carries the full warranty form ther manufacturer you should be OK. 98% of the time, if the refurbuish has issues, you'll see them in the forst day or two and can exchange it form a reputable online vendor.

Matt has an older version of a Canon Digital Rebel. They can be had pretty cheap now that the new version is out, especially used.

Older doesn't mean "bad" though... just CHEAPER. Honestly, unless you're shooting for a magazine or for commercial, a 6 megapixel camera is MORE than enough (especially if you shoot in uncompressed RAW format).

And even the "low end" digital Rebels accept both EF autofocus as well as some very nice old-series autofocus lenses from the Eos film era... There are some extremely nice lenses out there that can be had for a song simply because they're "not EF" and so are like 5-10 years old. Good glass is good glass, no matter what the age, so long as they were cared for properly.
