thought id snap a couple quick pics of my new car - 2002 impala ls. its hella dirty, both because of the recent messy snow, and the next door feed mill drying corn, yuck.
color is medium bronzemist metallic, with neutral leather, in case you were wondering - yes gramma pimpin.

had the headlamps out today, brought em inside to dry them out, had moisture in them from the dealership steamcleaning the engine bay - and just happened to notice that the stock horn was VERY accessible from underneath the passenger side headlamp - two brackets even! i had a wolo air horn laying around, which was meant for the XJ, but since its gone....

one horn in, making sure theyll fit:

couldnt have been easier, almost perfect stock replacement:

so far, im lovin the car. its smooth, got plenty of power, and i dont think it could have had a single option added to it - maybe xm? the glovebox has the original window sticker in it - was a $27,000 car in its day! werd.

thx :D

mp3s eh? didnt try that - but the system is decent, could use a little more low end but the mids/highs are great. supposedly it has an 8 speaker premium setup, im assuming theres an amp under the back seat.

does it have the tweeters in the rear deck?

An sftermarket HU either required you to rewire the whole audio system and lose the door/warning chimes. Or you have to spend about 80 bucks on a harness adaptor.

80 bucks for a cheap harness, if your lucky. The amp is under the rear package shelf, easily accessible through the trunk :-)

Nice Impala, man icon_cool.gif . Looks pretty damn similar to my father's 2004.

Any plans for it? Also, sorry if I missed it, but what happened to the XJ?

matt - i had to sell the poor xj. it was too bouncy for me to daily drive with a messed up neck. the beretta was too small. enter impala icon_biggrin.gif

bad thing is, the jeep went to a local so now ill continue to see it.

Not a bad car, the air horn should be nice as I think all cheap horns from the factory suck. I hope it has the 3800 in it as it is a much better engine then the 3400 or 3100.

NO its not, lol...

i would have never bought a ga - just cuz some imps have a 3400 doesnt make it the same car. i wont pick the statement apart, but heres a clip that wolo provides for the horn, its not quite as shrill as this makes it seem.

Impala is W-Body, Grand Am is N-Body. The Grand Prix is a W-Body though.

yep!

i havent driven the 2000 neon in like 2 years. i had a 98 before that. i still see the 2k about every day though, some chick is drivin it.

the 2k neon got traded in toward the 2k bonneville, which i had to sell when i moved out of the rents and got married - took the cutlass in on trade from a private buyer. bought the jeep cuz we couldnt make it on 1 ride. graduated, bought the beretta cuz it was good on gas, traded that toward the imp cuz it was a pile. sold the jeep.

phew.
