unscrew the high pressure side port and use a screwdriver to push the pin in while wearing leather gloves so you dont get frostbite.

or get a refill kit and plug it in and open the valve without the can of refrigerant on there and it will let the gas out.

but your best bet is to bring it to a shop. the gas rather toxic.

gas is very toxic and illegal to just let loose... thus is why it's supposed to be professionally done. And they are able to recycle it.

bring it to a shop. hell they may even be nice and drain it for free because they get paid for the used gas by the recycler.

why are you taking it out?
It has no drag when it's on, so unless you are putting something in it's place... there is really no point, besides the 10 pounds.

If he's putting a turbo in, most of the time AC compressors will be in the way of the manifold.

are you sure there is gas in there? if the ac doesnt work then chances are it has already leaked out.

NOT the assumption to go by

Your a big *** if you don't have it recycled, imo.

well im assuming that if the ac doesnt work you would check to see if the compressor clutch is working and that the blower motor is working. if both are working and you still have no cold air.most likely the refrigerant has leaked out. but if the air is slightly cold then its probably just low or the condenser is full of debris.
