i got a power inverter to power my sony playstation 2 in the car, the old style one before the slimline. And the inverter dont power it up.

Heres the details

power inverter:

power output: 150watts
max. power output: 160w +/- 10w
input voltage: 12v DC
output voltage: 230v AC +/-5%

PS2: AC 220-240V / 50/60Hz / 50w

is this ok or will i need to get something bigger?

LOL You guys are forgetting that he's from the UK. They don't have 120 volts over there. It's all 230. LOL

If the inverter isn't powering up then I wouldn't really be worried yet as to wether or not it's strong enough. It should be though. Make sure that your power and ground connections are really good. Power inverters are very picky about how they get hooked up.

The one I had in my truck worked great for the first few months but after that I needed to clean the terminals each time I wanted to use it and even then the over current protection would fade in and out if I had too bi a load hooked up on start up. Mine was a 1500 watt inverter powering a small fog machine.
