get something with like 1000RMS @ 1ohm or @ 4ohms. Getting something with 1000RMS @ 1ohm should be cheaper though...just make sure that it IS 1ohm stable.

Nope. I recommend you look up something that fits your price range, then look up product reviews on it. Amplifiers are too numerous and widespread to do all the work for you icon_cool.gif

if you're looking for new.
www.sonicelectronix.com
However, if you want used, I have a pair of 12" Type R's that are dual 2 ohm voice coil (2 ohm load max) that I'm looking to get rid of for cheap.
One of the surrounds was epoxied back on, but they're in good shape.
shoot me a PM if you're interested.

2 of the dual 2ohm drivers is a 8 or 2ohm load. So just find an amp then with 1000RMS or around that...and delivers that power @ 2ohms. icon_biggrin.gif

That's exactly what I said...
The lowest (minimum) you can go with those subs is a 2 ohm load...

You actually said maximum icon_eek.gif , but anyways vary few car audio amps deliver sufficient loads @ 8ohms, so basically your only wiring option would be 2ohms, as both of us said.

let me pre-requisite that post.. I had spent about 10 hours sanding, taping, climbing ladders, and painting at my fiance's aunts house in her garage, I also did yardwork that day... I think that I deserve a little break (basically I'm admitting I screwed up.

But I also said you were right in that 2ohms is basically the only load acceptable for those subs icon_smile.gif Its all good, minor uncritical mistake...no worries icon_smile.gif
