Well around here there is a serious problem with ppl who love to ride your ass when driving, So I want to mount some lights into my bumper that when i hit the switch pretty much say back the **** off.

What would be the brightest light(s) for my money icon_biggrin.gif

Put them in your back window. If it's tinted in any way, they won't see it at all until you turn them on icon_biggrin.gif

I've got a police strobe light in my back window. And on the bike, I just take off like an ass to get them away from me.

personally, i just ignore them or slow down to let them pass -- i drive at my own pace...

but i like the idea of the led sign board saying "Back the **** off"

if i were tailing you, i'd find it pretty funny..and probably back off since your message was pretty clear.

I have a friend of mine that has 2 very small foglights placed right at the bottom of his back window....He was messing around with them and was about 3 cars away from me and they looked like a car coming at me...It is up to you on what to use and where to put them, but I will warn you be careful whenever you cut them on...Don't forget about people with road rage...cause that would suck if you cut them on and ended up in a ditch because of some butthole....

Does this seem like the worst idea to anyone else ? Hate to throw in the dissenting opinion but its stupid and irresponsible to rear-mount a light with the intention of blinding other motorists . You're really willing to risk the lives of other drivers because someone is tailgating you ? That's ridiculous . What if that driver swerves into oncoming traffic and hits another vehicle ? Or what if you unintentionally effect other drivers behind him ? Its just a terrible idea all around and you should know better .
Those problems aside.. if I were an aggressive person prone to tailgating I would probably also be the kind of person that would get really **** off if someone was trying to blind me on the road.. it might make me do alot of different things but carefully backing off that driver and waving a little "I'm sorry" would surely NOT be amung them .
There are so many reasons not to do this .

x2, anyone who tailgates will not get a chuckle out of being blinded, sprayed or threatened by the car in front of them, it will only lead to worse behavior and put a big ol' target on your car for him and his friends.

either slow wayy down or spray em with your wipers.

if you blind them and they call the cops you will be the one in trouble and the tailgater will be driving away lauging.

throw golf clubs like in that seinfeld episode.

I like the windshield washer pump idea. Fill the tank with DOT 3, man you'd get in trouble for that.

Just remember usually when cops ride behind you, they don't just ride behind you but they ride behind you pretty closely (tailgaiting.) I'm sure you don't want to mistake a tailgaiter for a cop.

Either way, this is idiotic.

I almost never ride alone, meaning I basically always ride with someone. When someone starts tailgating me I just call up my friend that I'm with, have him pull up beside me and we just slow all the way down. I've gone down to 10mph in a 55 mph zone doing this. Oh yeah, it **** them off.
